I have a very long attention span.
I just don't want to waste a lot of time on someone I have no idea about, and no idea whether he's a nutcase or believable.

All you people accusing Putin and Russia, maybe you should listen to this US professor, he has very different views, and the knowledge and details to back them up:
To put it very clearly, a decent person should support Putin/Russia, not the West.
No, decent persons don't support wars with other countries everytime they do something you don't like. Decent people don't support dictators. Decent people don't support innocent civilians being killed. Russia is not entitled to a say over what their neighbors do. Russia is not the good guy. Russia is threatening even Sweden and Finland, Russia is threatening the use of nuclear weapons. Ukraine has not meddled in the internal affairs of Russia. Georgia didn't either.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not be intimidated.
The leader, 44, reportedly says he has turned down an offer from the United States to be evacuated from the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv amid Russia's invasion of his country.
"The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride," Zelenskyy told the U.S., according to a tweet from the Ukraine embassy in Britain early on Saturday morning.

So, here's John Mearsheimer in the written form, take you about 3 minutes to read.
Basically, Ukraine is a very strategic piece of land for Russia and holds no value in the US.
And you can sanction Russia all you want, if they fear for their existence they can withstand a lot of hardships before they feel backed against a wall, which is when they'll likely nuke us.

Putin is scared. Ukraine aspiring for NATO membership is something he wants to stop. Ukraine is not meddling in Russian affairs. Ukraine is just looking westward and Putin is afraid. Putin is an imperialist and Ukraine trying to join NATO stands in the way of that.
NATO is viewed as a threat to Putin. Putin is a threat to Ukraine, for obvious reasons.
You spend far too much time blaming Biden and not enough time assigning blame to Putin. I don’t think we had any plans to invade Mexico. Sending US troops into Ukraine would be reckless and dangerous, there were no good choices, the last thing we need is two nuclear powers facing off but you seem to think that is a good solution.
This is all on Putin period.
You are exactly wrong about that.
In claiming that, you agree to play a losing hand.
Ukraine means a whole lot more to Putin than to us. Putin holds a winning hand due to all the NG going west.
Assuming economic sanctions on someone like Putin will not work. The strategy to prevent this should have been figured out 13 months ago and executed prior to even the Afghanistan Horror.
