You know what they say about men who have nothing to lose?
If he truly is on the path of I have nothing to lose and going to go out in a blaze of glory I think there would be a coup. He would be taken out by his own people, probably his closest people, before he could set the world on fire. Self preservation is a strong motivation, one of the strongest there is.

Naw. Nothing like that going on, not unless Putin has received bad news of prostate cancer stage 4. That's when we have to worry.
I assume even in Russia that the stages of nuclear code involve heads of military also approving the sequence, just like ours does. No one man can start the destruction of the planet. At least it should work that way like ours does for the simple purpose of disarming madmen.
Yesterday anyone watching Euronews on one screen and Russian state television on another would have been perplexed by the totally contradictory coverage of both with respect to the fate of the armed detachment of Ukrainian border guards on one island in the southeast of Ukraine. Euronews carried the address of President Zelensky awarding posthumous designation as Heroes of Ukraine to the entire detachment, which reportedly resisted the attacking Russian forces and were slaughtered. Meanwhile Russian news showed those same border guards seated at tables and signing sworn statements that they voluntarily lay down their arms and awaited repatriation to their homes and families.
Was Zelensky engaging in brazen propaganda? No, he was simply misinformed because the detachment had been wholly cut off from its superior officers in Kiev and they feared for the worst. This is what the Russians practiced so successfully in their Crimean campaign in 2014.
I know Euronews, it is really a pretty awful TV station. Like almost everything else with the prefex euro- in it
* One country does not have the right to change the borders of another by force.
* One country is not permitted to dictate to another the policies and choices it makes, including with whom
to join/ associate.
*One country cannot make efforts and take actions to dominate and crush its neighbor nations.
Yeah, tell that to the US over Iraq and all the other Countries where we've over thrown their Leaders and caused wars.
The US is the worst about doing this, way beyond China or Russia.
those figures seem questionable ? , while the Ukrainians are fighting heroically , surely they dont have the offense abilities to achieve those kind of losses in four days ?
yes they have a lot of munitions support from the West but its Ukranians soldiers alone on the ground
ukr has a 900000 person army and hundreds of thousands of citizens and they still do have aircraft, tanks, bases, hand helds and more are arriving daily, its only us that are behind the 8 ball
