reminds me of talking to a concealed holster salesman once where I pointed out that with his holster, there was no room for a second magazine. And he said, "You're a civilian. It's understandable if you are special forces where you will be loading up on magazines as you can but as a civilian, if you need more than one magazine, you're in the wrong gun fight.".
To which I thought to myself...........QUITE FRANKLY, I DON'T WANT TO BE IN ANY GUN FIGHT!
It's wild, isn't it? My training calls for carrying at least 3 magazines, even as a civilian (and these days, it is 4 because "train as you would fight").......but as such, as a trained fighter, I'm probably the last person to get into a fight.
They're ticking people off every chance they get, hoping to make someone angry enough that they get to shoot them and claim self defense (i.e. George Zimmerman). Or they're waiting for the Black guy that isn't ever going to break into their house. That's who they really want to use it on (also George Zimmerman)
We Americans crave violence. Everyone wants to be a thug or gangster but most are only willing to do it within the confines of the law.
Spoken like someone who truly doesn't know what they are talking about.

Why? I think it is the prowess I project.
Most of us who carry avoid getting into a gunfight anytime we can.
Speaking for myself and being a retired Law enforcement officer, and by law can still carry a concealed handgun in any and every State or city, I will only defend myself and loved ones since I’m not in a hurry to face a trial by TV or being called a racist, even when I’m half Black.
The way the liberals have twisted the courts and the justice/legal system in most every Blue city, I know that the DA/prosecutors office will come after me, even if it’s clearly a good self defense shooting…. Because all the talking heads on TV and the race baiters, like Al Sharpton, will scream for justice, even if it’s an injustice.
Yes, I’ll defend children and the elderly, but that is it. Honestly, and using the NYC subway shooting scenario, if the shooter was in a different car, I’d do my best to get off the train a quickly as possible. Unless the shooter is in my area and posing immediate threat to me, I would not engage him in a gunfight since I fear the justice system, in its current state.
To the OP question, in most Blue cities, it almost impossible to legally purchase a handgun, let alone carry one concealed and criminals know this and use it to their advantage since by the very nature of being a criminal, they don’t care about gun laws or any laws. Firearm laws tend to only hurt the honest people in those cities.

There are myriad reasons why I love Texas.....our suite of laws protecting righteous shooters from both criminal and civil peril are close to the top of my list.
What used to be two guys arguing over a girl ending in a bloody nose has turned into one guy shooting at the other and 20 other people pulling out guns and joining in. Just too, too many guns out there in the hands of hothead kids and irresponsible people. And it gets worse by the day.

Or maybe you're just not a threat to anyone--assuming that Tamara in the Hill Country of Texas is a white woman. C'mon, lady, who wants to shoot at you?

Could you expand on this please? I'm a young black male living in America which makes me more likely to be shot at than probably anyone in this thread, and yet I'm not half as pro-gun as so many of you. To me it sounds like a lot of folks are looking forward to violence...

Legal gun owners are very rarely involved in a shooting. Most shootings and murders are black on black by people who can't legally carry or even own a gun.

The last, and I mean the very LAST thing a gun owner wants to do is shoot someone. You could draw the same conclusion that people who buy fire extinguishers like fires.
