If they would stop and frisk known idiots in the cities they could cut down on random gun violence by 75% overnight. Why don’t they? Because nobody cares about gun deaths in the cities.

They could do a 2 week waiting period on any kind of a weapons purchase and do a thorough background check on the buyer before delivery. They don’t care about that either.
What they care about is what helps them get re elected and that’s it. End of story.

Emerging science about brain development suggests that most people do not reach full maturity until the age of 25.

When applying for proof of identity one is allowed to submit a number of articles
whether a license, or birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc... etc....

I suggest 25 years old is a good place to start.
As a hypothetical,
A 21 year old and proof of military service, law enforcement can supersede the 25 years of age minimal requirement.

Type of gun ? Similar conditions...........................
adding proof of history and ongoing gun training ..........
as compared to DMV Defensive Driving School to keep your driving skills in tip top shape.

I do not believe in laws that you have to jump thru hoops in order to own a gun.
I believe in laws that can fairly put guns in the hands of any safe and responsible American.

We literally declare all 18-20 year olds guilty because of Ramos, and we remove their right as a punishment. All because it makes you feel better.

Tyrant much?
Very well said!!!

We don't allow 18-20 to purchase liquor. Maybe we should but there are 18+ age cutoffs elsewhere.

Missouri restricts carry to 19, unless military or spouse of military, you can carry at 18. But since you can't own a handgun until 21, if under that age you must carry a note from a parent giving you permission to carry their gun. Crazy law.

Wake the heck up Your current laws do not work Because the State and FED. gov. Screwed up with the Red flag and Back ground checks.
both recent shooters should have been denied the purchase of any firearm
Wake up people it is not the firearm, it is the person using it.
1966 texas tower shooting after killing his Mother and wife with A Knife C. Whitman went to the top.
Killed 15 [ another died years latter] and injured 31 more.
with a 3 shot Remington Model 700 bolt action Rifle .
took 2 Cops and A "CIVIE" to stop him

But the fact is that 18-20 year olds can vote, get drafted and go to war. If they can be trusted for that then they can be trusted to possess a firearm. Not only that but a lot of people were brought up with guns a lot younger than that and never go on to misuse them in an unlawful manor. High Schools at one time used to have rifle teams and participated in shooting sports.

I don't know but I don't believe that the vast majority of 18 year olds are as bad as some people would like you to believe.

here a reasonable gun law:

commit a crime with a gun, life in prison
commit a crime and somebody dies, death pentaly within 180 days
somebody in your crew, kills someone, ditto

The changes began, right after the guns were confiscated.

Now, the populace is helpless to do anything about it.
You may want to look at different source.

The Human Freedom Index, produced by the right-wing CATO institute, puts Australia FAR higher than the USA. Australia is ranked at #8 and the USA at #15

Freedom House, also a USA right wing organization ranks Australia at 95% free and the USA at 83% free.

Australia has more freedoms than the USA.

Not all states uniformly have laws that do that.
