Yawn. How many times does this have to be proven to you folks for it to finally sink in?

The House sergeant at arms reports to Pelosi. Among asking others, Sund had asked Irving, who had answered to Pelosi, a number of times for the NG and Irving denied his requests. The Capitol building is under the Speaker of the House, and Pelosi does have a say in the security of the building.

Do you think a riot or a suspected threat of a riot at the Capitol building is so commonplace that it happens on a daily (day-to-day) basis?

This sounds like Sean Hannity's claim that Trump authorized 20,000 NG troops but Pelosi turned them down. First of all she doesn't have the authority nor does any other member of congress, that resides with the president no one else and secondly when and where were they getting all these troops.

Pence called General Milley 3 times during the riot asking him to call out the military, that was in a deposition. Trump never gave orders to anyone.

Since no one in the crowd was searched or screened, we'll never know. However, many rioters were armed, and many have been indicted or convicted for carrying weapons. A few examples:

Lonnie Coffman - sentenced to four years for carrying two handguns and bringing a rifle, crossbow, stun gun,
shotgun, machetes, and 11 Molotov cocktails in his vehicle.

Guy Refitt - convicted of possessing a firearm.

Christopher Alberts - indicted for carrying a Taurus G2C handgun on Capitol grounds.

Mark Ibrahim - indicted for bringing a firearm into the Capitol.

Objects used as weapons during the attack:flagpoles, sharp sticks, batons, baseball bats, hockey sticks, and bear spray.

Nothing to see here folks. Just a group of peacefull, law and order Republicans. (/s)

Here's some footage of that Sunday School picnic some are calling an insurrection. Watch and make up your own mind, under 3 minutes.

We already saw the beginning of the attempted coup with the mob smashing the doors in the last two episodes.

Don't know what else they might show in that segment. Tune in and find out.
Don’t know about the ‘coup’ exaggeration but the rest of that’s been known for the last 18 months. I guess the Dems gotta do the replay and some folks like watching.

Something tells me Nancy won’t be highlighting her security failures as part of an ordinary ‘lessons learned’ investigation.

The 1200 grew by a couple of hundred more during the afternoon. But all in all, there's only about 1800 Capitol cops in total that are employed to guard the Capitol.

One would think that with the number of cops there, that:

There would have been a rush to add the NG to the mix.

They would have made sure all of the cops were armed with passive crowd control weapons, mace bombs, smoke bombs, rubber bullets, etc. (a mace/smoke bomb could have quickly cleared out the inside area, where Babbitt was murdered, before the windows were broken and before she was murdered)

They would have trained the cops better, and perhaps hired better cops.

Trained to not open gates and allow large numbers of protesters to enter the area around the building.

Trained to not allow them to walk into the very building they are protecting.

Trained to where if the cops feel overwhelmed then they hole up inside the building and protect it and the people in the building from the inside(like the cops across the country had done many times in 2020)
etc.

The rioting protesters across the country during 2020 probably outnumbered the cops as well, and those cops seemed to be able to handle it very well. Perhaps the Capitol cops aren't as well trained or as brave as the cops across the country?

I don't recall hearing of someone driving their vehicle onto the Capitol grounds or into the building. Can you post a link showing that those weapons were on or anywhere near the Capitol?

I don't recall anyone using a gun or pointing it at a cop. Can you post a link where those guns were actually used and not holstered the whole time?

How many of each weapon on your list was there, and how many people actually carried them? Do you believe those types of weapons, and the small amount of them, would overwhelm a government that has every weapon known to man? Seriously?

Trump as president commanded the D.C. Guard. Had he given an order for them to be there, she could not have stopped them from coming.

This time we are hearing directly from people who were there. Until now it was news reports and books quoting anonymous sources. I like hearing direct evidence.
