As a woman, I find drag queens' caricaturistic depictions of women offensive. They show no regard to women's intellect or depth of character, just women as sex symbols based on outward appearance. I don't care how "artistic" the hair and costumes are; they are degrading women by looking and acting as they do.
Everyone else gets to be offended over every little thing these days. Society bends over backwards to make sure no one is offended. Why is this ok? I think that portraying women in this way is insulting, but the drag queen defenders dont care if some women are offended.
If drag was being done only for adults, I'd still dislike the caricatures, but at least it would only involve adults. I am especially disgusted that the defenders don't care that drag queens want to implant this offensive, sexualized caricature of women into the minds of little boys and girls.
Drag Queens are supposed to be exaggerated versions of women. That's what they are supposed to be.
But they never had a place in schools or among children until just recently.
It’s like when Pat Robertson made the statement “Every time I see a picture of gay men kissing it makes me want to vomit.” Apparently nobody told him the problem would solve itself if he quit searching the internet for pictures of two men kissing.
It’s like telling black people that if they don’t like shows where the actors do black face they should just not go to them.
Everyone is offended these days and outraged by perceived slights but women are not allowed to be offended or have opinions.
I really don’t have a problem with traditional drag shows targeting adults. I find the push to involve kids to be strange.

You missed the point. 1. Women have a right to be offended by the ridicule of and contempt for their sex. 2. Keep adult activities away from children.

We all might agree but it doesn't matter. The wheels were already set in motion. The Drag Queens are there in front of the kids and in some places paid for by the government.
WE have no say in whatever agenda is being played out.

I already said I'm in favor of keeping any bawdy shows away from children.
That said, all drag shows are not bawdy. A huge number of them are contests to see who can come closest to duplicating a celebrity, and more are simply contests to judge proficiency in hair, clothes, makeup, and mannerisms. Sounds like the shows you've been going to are a lot more fun than mine.
Setting aside the 1a aspect for a moment... Those of you who would like to ban drag queen story hour, are you willing to apply the standard evenly and ban women from wearing men's clothing at story time as well?
Would you ban androgyny too? (Just to be sure!)
If you think those notions are absurd, then you should think its equally absurd to prohibit a dude from reading stories to kids wearing high heels and a feather boa.
I mean, we could discuss it, but I wouldn't want to make you late for whatever book burning you've got going on tonight.

What I am saying, I say this not as a Democrat or a Republican. This is not a partisan thing for me, as I'm not interested in engaging that. Anyone who wants to engage partisan rants with me, take that somewhere else, I'm not interested. I say this as a believer in Christ. I find this drag queen stuff to be disgusting. I've always found it to be disgusting. I find pedophilia to be disgusting as well. It's not about politics for me. It's a simple matter of morals and values for me. I was raised in a God-fearing, Christ-believing home. I'm keeping it that way. I find this drag queen stuff to be disturbing. One reason I've stayed out of this discussion is because of the partisan tones that it takes. However, I'm going to speak my peace, and I don't want any partisan rants coming into it.
I think about when I was a kid. I was never exposed to drag queen or even porn as a kid. I think we should keep it that way. I am thankful I was never exposed to that stuff as a kid. Childhood should involve awareness, but innocence, morals, and values too.
