What I am saying, I say this not as a Democrat or a Republican. This is not a partisan thing for me, as I'm not interested in engaging that. Anyone who wants to engage partisan rants with me, take that somewhere else, I'm not interested. I say this as a believer in Christ. I find this drag queen stuff to be disgusting. I've always found it to be disgusting. I find pedophilia to be disgusting as well. It's not about politics for me. It's a simple matter of morals and values for me. I was raised in a God-fearing, Christ-believing home. I'm keeping it that way. I find this drag queen stuff to be disturbing. One reason I've stayed out of this discussion is because of the partisan tones that it takes. However, I'm going to speak my peace, and I don't want any partisan rants coming into it.
I think about when I was a kid. I was never exposed to drag queen or even porn as a kid. I think we should keep it that way. I am thankful I was never exposed to that stuff as a kid. Childhood should involve awareness, but innocence, morals, and values too.
I totally agree with you. It comes down to morals.
What is the point of bringing in drag queens to read to kids? Is the teacher illiterate and can't read a story him/herself?
Why drag queens? Explain the reason that it has to be drag queens.
Exposure. This isn't about reading to kids. This is about exposing kids to drag queens young so that they can see this as "this is the way things are, and you should learn young how to accept this".

This is all it is for me. Morals and values. I think about how I was raised. It wasn't perfect, but I can say I was raised with a more solid moral foundation that what we see with drag queens. And I wasn't raised in a politically conservative home. Socially, it was more conservative. God, family, keeping up with one's grades in school. And I was raised in a home with BOTH parents. None of that drag queen stuff would fly in our home.
I could relate to certain things in social conservatism (the religious part of it). I could not identify with the political far-right. Big difference. One reason I've kept my mouth shut until now.

It's not normal to me. Neither is this transgender stuff. I was born a man and I'm staying a man until the day I die (and hopefully, I live to be at least 90 years old).
Can't answer the question? You said "we could discuss it", so how about answering the question. Should be easy if you're so supportive of "drag queen story hour".
Do you honestly believe that it’s drag queens and only drag queens reading stories to kids?

Agree, it's not partisan. There just happen to be a lot more crazies that stand on the Democrat side (people like Maxine, AOC, Schumer, etc., etc.). But there are plenty of rational, common sense Democrats. Republicans have their share of right wing nuts as well, but they're not given the air time and acceptance as their left wing counterparts.

Fully agree with you, GM. Children have only a handful of years in which to be innocent, untouched, and unburdened by adult matters. Good post; thank you for it.
