Michael Cohen details a piece in Letitia James' case being ignored — and it could result in a Trump obstruction charge
There is a piece of the civil lawsuit against the Trump Organization by New York Attorney General Letitia James that is falling by the wayside in the discussion about Donald Trump's legal problems.
Speaking to MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace on Friday, former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen noted that there were subpoenas sent to Trump about classified documents he said that he didn't have.
What about that free rent President Trump gave to Jesse Jackson aka Rainbow Coalition for office space in Manhattan back in 1999 or so? There's got to be some wrongdoing going on there that the desperate democrap libs can get President Trump on.
If true, did he write it off as a charitable contribution, or did the Rainbow Coalition declare it as a donation? That would have been the most likely scenario, and nothing crooked about it.
Declassifying documents (in case you don't know the law):
Trump has the right to declassify documents:
Trump is protected under an executive order that was signed by Barack Obama in 2009 establishing a uniform system for "classifying, safeguarding and declassifying national security information."
The order allows the president to determine the system of designating classified information, and he is the ultimate authority over U.S. intelligence agencies, which gather and classify the information.
The Supreme Court confirmed as much in its 1988 ruling in Department of Navy v. Egan.
Old article but still applies to a sitting president:

Trump claims presidents can declassify documents "even by thinking about it"
There is a reason that his lawyers won't mention that anything was declassified only Trump.
The 11th Circuit said that no matter if the documents were classified or declassified, Trump had no possessory right to them. He is no longer president and his right to those documents ended on January 20, 2021.
That being said, Dearie is still waiting to Trump to provide evidence that he declassified anything.
the Times provided a good answer to the questions many have posed on this thread. It said that the AG sued Trump under the same law as it sued Trump University, the Trump Foundation and Martin Shrekli, Executive Law 63(12):
Quote:
In these cases, the attorney general’s office does not have to show that defendants intended to defraud anyone or that their actions resulted in any financial loss. It can make a case based solely on significant misrepresentations or deceptive practices.
It is something like a corporate RICO act which is often used against major corporations. The law gives the AG's office wide discretion in investigating cases and can be used to cancel the license of a business or make defendants disgorge what are called their 'ill-gotten gains.'

Trump never said he declassified documents by thinking about it. He did say he did declassify documents but didn't say how nor does he need to explain to anyone how he did it.
This is still off-topic and has nothing to do with the NY AG filing a "civil" suit. If James had anything it would be a criminal case not a civil case.
