Why does the GOP keep nominating candidates with little if any experience or capabilities, and with screwy ideas or sayings, who lose elections that should be winnable?

GOP, a football player who paid women to have abortions is really the most qualified candidate?
Left-wing extremest, stroke-addled Democratic Party Senate candidate John Fetterman says "hi".

The difference between the Democrats and GOP is that Republican voters don't reward the GOP for running crazy candidates. The more crazy, communist, and extreme you are, the easier it is to get elected to Democrat office.

Walker is ahead, and will win in a runoff, as Ga law mandates it assuming he does not get 50% plus 1 in 10 days.

I have a hunch that you voted for Biden in 2020 though.
I voted for Jorgensen.

These GOP candidates you speak of have more in common with you and me than the professional politicians we keep voting into office.

Weird or not, we ought to let the democratic process decide if they will serve or not.
It was simple times when the constitution was written. The founders laid the groundwork but had no vision of the future. The only professional politicians are the ones who spend their whole lives in government because they keep being re elected.

I don't think that your world view is all that great either. Why do people need to be experienced to be a Senator or Congressman? Does everyone need to be a career politician? It's the greedy, selfish, out of touch career politicians who are screwing everything up. I'd rather have more candidates who are just normal people, not corrupt, paid and bought, career politicians.

The current GOP doesn't have anything but poor quality candidates. That is what drives their fixation with celebrity or faux celebrity candidates like Herschel Walker, Dr. Oz, Trump, even our cutesy local TV weatherman. They are all clueless but have recognized names in their districts or state. In some cases they have camera presence or a bit of communication sense. But that does not pass for intelligence or experience. They are good at taking direction but don't have much ability or independent thought. They latch on to one aspect of the culture wars or some local or regional issue as a one-trick pony and try to ride it into office.

I guess you didn't watch that Fetterman debate. Or the Biden debate. Or the Harris debate. This question is nonsensical.
