Trump was the better choice because he won. Kasich couldn't beat Trump or Cruz...how was he supposed to beat Clinton?

He would have lost as well. The GOP chose the guy they thought could beat Clinton, and they chose correctly.

A reasonable argument takes time to articulate properly. A howling shriek takes seconds. The American attention span is 3-5 seconds. Put those together and then reevaluate the whole concept of how people get elected.

If you can't convince someone in America of something in under 5 seconds, you will never get a plurality. Sooo...what can you most readily do in 5 seconds or less - scare, shock, scold, blame. None of that is reason, but all of it can be done in under 5 seconds.

Americans are not reasonable people. We are a nation of ADHD toddlers with the attention span of houseflies. We get the candidates and the representatives we deserve as a result of our inherent lack of attention span.

Everyone is a hypocrite and that's especially true of politicians. The bigger the hypocrite, the more likely they are to win, nobody saying what they really think can win an election.

Walker is going to win by 5+ points.

As long as politics mirror a Gang war this will continue. Actually, politics is the only job where the less you know the more likely voters will vote for you and continue to even if you never learn a thing while doing it.

I think a candidate can win today with a bumper sticker and Motto that just says "I'm Mad as He11...". That's it, nothing else. Throw an R or a D in there and DONE!

"I'm Mad, and I approve this message!!"

In 2023, it’s Herschel Walker.

Why does the GOP keep nominating candidates with little if any experience or capabilities, and with screwy ideas or sayings, who lose elections that should be winnable?

GOP, a football player who paid women to have abortions is really the most qualified candidate?
Warnock who evicted people for being behind less than 1 months rent while preaching the evils of doing that is qualified?

If GOP candidates are too extreme, then the Democrats shouldn't have given 10s of millions of dollars to "ultra MAGA" candidates that they say are a threat to democracy. Hypocritical BS.

So why are Repubs ok with electing hypocrites? Especially such obvious hypocrites. Is that the best they can do?

Fetterman is recovering from a stroke. What is Herschel's excuse for mumbling and fumbling his words?

Akin won the nomination due to Democrats voting in the Republican primary and selecting the most bat-s**** Crazy candidate on the ballot.

In Missouri we don’t register as Democrats or Republicans. In a primary election, you can ask for a Republican, Democrat or Independent ballot.

So why are Dems ok with electing total loons? Especially such obvious loons. Is that the best they can do?
