Cult of personality. The more extreme and nutty a candidate, the more some supporters like it.

Both parties have bad candidates because that is who we're picking. There is no way a conspiracy theorist like Marjorie Taylor Greene should be an office holder of any kind. But, alas, she got elected to be the representative of the GA 14th Congressional District. Most of the population who voted wanted her as representative.

We get clowns in office because we look to someone based on "they could win". That's not why you vote for someone. You vote for someone because they have good ideas and have the tenacity to see them through. Just because someone COULD win doesn't mean they should.

I can't believe the OP had the balls to ask this question when the Democrats have been putting up people like Mayor Pete, Hillary, Harris and Dementia Joe - and that's just for the office of president.

The voters are responsible for who is getting picked. Don't want to lousy candidate? Go vote in the primary. Don't just pick a candidate because you think "he'll win". Don't pick someone because "they're different". You pick the person who is the most competent. You pick the person who will actually do a good job. I also think it would behoove Americans to put their force behind 3rd party candidates. People say a 3rd party candidate will never work out. Well, that kind of mentality isn't going to change anything. How is a candidate going to win if you don't vote for said candidate?
