I think many of the conservative posters are stunned at the results based on their confidence before the Nov 8th elections and their gnashing of teeth after the election. Historically, mid term elections go strongly to the other party and with interest rates, gas prices, high crime rates, and potential recession brewing, the republican's should have had better results. The question is why did the GOP fail to pull through with the promised red wave?
My response.
A combination of abortion rights, Jan. 6th failed coup attempt, election lies, and radical trump republicans and their rhetoric. I just hope the right doesn't learn the lesson of this election cycle.
I think it is abortion and also, honestly, there are some parts of the conservative movement I am sick of.
- I am so sick of hearing about gender surgery - I do not care. If some kid decides he wants to be another sex... so be it. If their family isn't involved enough to advise him or her... so be it. It is as if this is the only way a kid could ever get hurt. Personal Responsibility.
- Sick of things like... hysteria about drag queens and kids. Who cares.
- Sick of religion in general. Pence... really? There is no right to be free from Religion.
- Sick of the right being disingenuous about things.. hyper focused on Biden being perfect at every event if he so much as messes up a word he has dementia.
But in the end we have to remember that is election was close. I would hope the new GOP would learn some lessons but I am not sure it will.
This is why I think the SCOTUS did this on purpose. They did it to try and sabotage the GOP winning everything, because this was the main thing the democrats talked about in their campaign.
That is about a subtle as one can get and still be calling people racist.

Eh,..being more diverse doesn't mean they're less racist. Or more capable.
That diversity is concentrated around the urban areas. There will still be groups. And hey, maybe that just means the diverse youths will look at the non-diverse areas of youth as racist anyway.
maybe that diversity will exacerbate even more racism.
It seems to me that the R's don't offer anything of substance. They are good at fear mongering, lying, distortion, taking rights away. Then there is their attempt to overthrow the United States. Nor, not much beyond sticking it to the 'libs.' Where is the meat--the comprehensive plan to help.
Statements like that are why this country is so divided, Tim Ryan showed class in his concession speech so did Vance in victory. Kemp on the other hand chose to send it in on his critics and further divide.
Hey it's America. I have an opinion. He is smooth I will give you that.
How many people ya think who died during Covid voted Democrat and mailed in their Ballots this year?
Quite a few Democrats came back from the dead to vote.
