Anyway, it seems that the whole thing hinged on the fact that she was gay and trans and her parents were extremely religious and would not accept it.
She was going to kill her family and then there were plans for a mall shooting and maybe some others. Everyone said she was quiet and sweet. She'd had a gun but the parents thought she'd gotten rid of it and they had no idea that she'd bought more guns. She was being treated for something mental.
Who's to blame? I'm sure I don't know!
She was unwell with a type of mental psychosis, and she slowly went insane because of it. Who's to blame? She is. There are other people with gender dysphoria or other forms of mental psychosis and they are not murdering innocent children.
Unless we should decide that in the interest of public safety, we need to lock up everyone with a mental psychosis and gender dysphoria.
What we need is a gun purchasing link system. Those gun stores in Nashville should have been able to see that she purchased numerous other guns from other stores recently. That would have been a huge red flag to get authorities involved and to stop the sales of the guns to this person.

That's the rub here. Anyone can buy a gun when they are sane, then ten or twenty years later they become a complete mental case. How are we supposed to identify these people? Even if we do tell the police and the FBI that so-and-so is acting strange and we think they might harm someone, law enforcement will do nothing.
But let's say you break up with your long time lover, and they call the police to report that you are capable of mass shooting at the local mall? Are they police supposed to grab your guns? If so, the first thing former girlfriends will do is call the police and claim you said you wanted to commit murder.

I don’t see anyone “bemoaning” that Hale was misgendered. It’s a matter of correcting the record. Hale being trans is a major part of this story.
Many people thought early on that they were a male to female trans woman.
They’re stressing the gender because whether Hale was trans or not became an almost instant motive.
