Transgender female shooter. Would not be surprised if the news eliminates any descriptions or talk about the shooter. While this person being transgender isn’t a significant factor in the shooting, I suspect the press will alter their reporting after the release of information the shooter is a transgender female.
There is no indication of her mental health history, it's irrelevant anyway since Tennessee did not pass Red Flag laws. If she is transgender that would likely not bar her from owning a gun and is not a mental health issue.

The fact that this person suffers gender dysphoria is proof of mental illness. That doesn't mean all people that suffer this illness will go berserk like this, but it does raise some questions concerning mental health and firearms ownership.
