This guy [Georgia] president is stupid. First of all, he is so open about being pro-Western, and tries to implement pro-Western policies in the region. And he goes out and tries to engage with Russia, yes, Russia. I mean how much of a crazy idea would that be. I wouldn't be surprised if GWB, and good ol' USA actually pushed this idiot to " "protect its territory" " by going offensive. This guy is a freaking idiot - he brought all this to himself and he's now running around looking for a cease-fire. My guess is that Russia will go ahead and overthrow his government anyway, but they will do it on a very low key way.

Read a little about the region....

Georgia (country - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

South Ossetia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

South Ossetia is part of Georgia,it is not recognised as a separate nation.

Read the timeline here:

War in South Ossetia (2008 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

And take note of what happened PRIOR to Georgia reacting to being attacked.

Also think about this,South Ossetia is very poor, subsistence farming mostly....somehow these poor farmers have artillery, rockets and the capability to knock out tanks and aircraft....

Russia is behind all this.

2,000 only and that makes them the third largest contributors. Wow. McCain should tell them the "surge" is working in Iraq therefore we need a "surge" from them. Or maybe the US should give back and send the 'surge' from Iraq to over there. The surge in Iraq and Georgia would definitely win McCain the presidency

Considering there are only 37000 in the ENTIRE Georgian military, 2000 men is quite a lot.

And of those 37000, less than 19000 are in the Army.

Nah, i didn't. But i know that Georgian Idiot has always been listening to the West and trying to do what the West tells him. Call it what you want but it's a crazy idea for Georgia to go on the offensive against Russia. Now where is the West? Ohh, i forgot, they just sitting on the sideline talking about things such as disproportionate response. Good way to go.......there
