Also interesting that the Iranian is automatically labeled as scum without knowing if he was under strict orders for fear of death to not compete. If there were indeed no threats to his well-being, then I would stand corrected. Unfortunately, we'll never really know the details.

Now you may proceed with your blind love and endless want for taxpayer subsidies to your socialist utopia in the middle east.
LOL yourself.

Is that you singing along?

More LOL. Is that a strawman argument?

I don't hate Jews. I just hate liberals pretending to be conservative supporting taxpayer subsidization of socialist states.

I rate your deflection on the response 7 out of 10. I would suggest some more along the lines of this for maximum effectiveness:

I'm sure some of your best friends are jews.

We "subsidize" plenty of "socialist states" besides Israel. And get much less bang for our buck. Your deflections smack of equal parts ignorance and patronization. An unhappy combination.

The "we do it for others" is about as good an argument as "lesser of two evils", apologist and cowardly. The latter argument has been a source of the foreign policy black cloud floating over the US. Do you prefer fetching the low hanging fruit or the stuff that fell on the ground, or would you like to try for the fresher variety higher up?

My best friends aren't Jews, but most of my colleagues in the academic circle are. We're not as close, but we enjoy the information exchange nontheless. I would never think about refusing to exchange ideas with them.

Got strawman?

Got strawman?

Sort of like your "If the Iranian swimmer is a coward and we boycotted the Moscow games, are we cowards?" argument?

Talk about being an apologist.

So man up. Defect.

Join the real world of free people, where we consider it unsportsmanlike and cowardly to refuse to compete with another man because of his race, religion, or nationality.

"Just defect" is a nice option and great advice from someone living in a relatively cushy environment with little restriction on political descent.

Why didn't many living under the boot of oppressive governments think the way you are? You're so smart.

No strawmen here. You've got a problem with Jews. Why not admit it like a man, instead of whining about socialism?

Not cushy, just rational. The kind of simple decision any thinking person would make.

Oh, they have. Why, some of your ancestors may have made the same decision.

Having a problem with Israel is not the same as having a problem with Jews, despite what liberal RINOs and wicked snake charmers might want people to believe. Small minds would think otherwise.

I may be the prince of meaningless blather, but it would be an honor to crown you the supreme ruler any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
