I guess you could say that John made his money the old fashioned way...he married it.

I care when he claims to support Joe the Plumber. That's a lie. His policies will take care of his friends and peers- the millionaires. The Obamas came from nothing and have earned their money through hard work. They are much more middle class (albeit upper middle class) than McCain. I think they will remember their roots and work for the middle class.

Doesn't matter...you're still taxed at the same percent. You can carry you over-payment to the next "quarter". Doesn't mean your tax-bracket decreases.

Estimated taxes stink b/c unless you have an accountant who can estimate your taxes to the penny per quarter..you always over-pay. Keeps them (those accountants) from getting sued/or ante up when you have to pay those fines/interest fees should they under-estimate.

And no, I don't expect 99% of Obama voters to "get" what I'm talking about. So they need to stop pretending they have a clue as to what goes on behind the scenes of small businesses who are going to fire "Jizzy Joe thinking Obama is Jesus" when Obama raises taxes on small businesses. Jizzy Joe ain't gonna have a job if it comes down to my kid or Jizzy. Sorry!

What does that have to do with tomorrow? Or next Tuesday?

What does that have to do with how Clinton was elected or how John Heinz Kerry was running for office?

Stop nit-picking at the bs. Obama sucks and that is all you need to know. He's a liar and a racist and has direct ties to the housing market debacle and prove he doesn't.

He'd cave two seconds into being captured by the enemy. He'd be waving that huge white flag claming "racist" and the Viet-Kong would have to let him go years before they let McCain.

What a shame to compare a POW to a loser like Obama. Shame.

How is McCain's good friend Gordon Liddy doing lately? How can you support a man who's GOOD FRIEND tells people to blow the heads off federal agents?

I don't know..how can someone support a dude like Clinton (and/or his wife) who had so many people turn up dead at the end of his term?

Grow up.

Dude, I ain't a millionaire...and McCain is so much better for me than Obama. So get over that.

This is what you're not GETTING....people who live in certain suburbs/cities and make that $250-$300-$400k per year are NOT millionaires.

Yet, per Obama, we are.

So, screw Obama and should he be (I think he will be) elected, I'm just going to find more ways to hide my money. I will stop giving my crap to charitable entities...I'll start selling it on Ebay. I will also stop giving money to any other charitible (in name only) entity that sends me vouchers/calls me on the phone.

Charity will start and end at home once my taxes go up and that's it! Other than the fact I'll probably have to let go of at least two employees..so what? They won't qualify for welfare or any other assistance...not my problem when it comes down to my kids vs. anyone else. They'll have to go ask Obama what to do next. I've done my part and MORE than Obama has or ever will do for anyone. I highly doubt the dude has driven an abused mom of 3 to a court house to file paperwork that HE researched and got together for her so she could recieve aid while the JERK husband was in jail...and it goes on and on...so don't tell me that I have no clue or understanding. She is just ONE example of many over 16 years who I have given my time, my money (after tax dollars, mind you) and so much more. What have YOU done?

Obama is like a bad garage sale. I'd rather throw my stuff in the garbage than sell it for what some cheap arse jerk wants to "buy" it for.

You are obviously speaking of a different NYC than I am. $250K may go a long way if you are single or spend everything you make or live in a rent-controlled unit your great-great Grammy left you...or don't have any kids or aren't saving money for your own retirement or not setting anything else aside for your future.

Nope, not where I live. $250K is not RICH by any means. Doing ok, yes. A lot of money to throw around or waste? Nope. Not if you take care of your own.
Yes, I live in Manhattan.
Yes, I have two bedrooms and I do not live in "granny's apartment" but thanks for being condescending.
No, I don't have a car - it's not necessary to have one in NY.

Now let me be clear - i absolutely do NOT make $250,000 a year. My husband and I make much less than half of that. We dont have much wiggle room, but we do fine.

Now We have friends who make about $175,000 and they live in a high-rise in midtown, own a car, live extremely comfortably and set aside plenty for their future. No kids, but they easily could.

I dunno what your lifestyle is like - maybe it's more luxurious than a lot of people here. Maybe that's why, for you, $250,000 is "doing ok."

[quote=ShakenStirred;5916482] Read the tons of posts I have put out about how small business finance works and you'll be a little better educated to have this debate. For now, you're one of the millions of ignorant Americans who have no clue how the finances of a small business works, as indicated by your completely off base post.

Okay, first, why don't you try NOT behaving like an a$$ and go around calling people "ignorant" when you have no idea what you're talking about?

Second of all, try brushing up on your reading comprehension. i was not talking about small businesses. I NEVER mentioned anything about small businesses. i was talking about people or families. If my husband and I suddenly were making $250,000 a year, even after taxes, we would be doing INCREDIBLY well in one of the most expensive cities in the country.

Geez why are you people so rude??
