Acorn was getting people to vote - if you believe it or not, they (as a organization) do not tell you who to vote for. Both parties have given to acorn.

Sierra Club - protecting the environment and open land.
Telling candidates views on the environment, is not violating the law.

It is disappointing that more blacks didn't see how discrimination against one minority group affects other minority groups, themselves included. Unlike the Mormon church, however, blacks and black churches are not claiming tax exempt status while at the same time funneling $22 million to lobby and propagandize for a specific "political" ballot measure, clearly in violation of IRS tax code.

Once again, The Mormon Church did not donate one penny to the Yes On 8 Campaign and it certainly did not funnel anything through its members.

Trust me, We're Loaded. We dont need the Church's help.

SAN FRANCISCO—A California gay rights activist filed a complaint Thursday accusing the Mormon church of failing to report the value of the work it did to support the state's new same-sex marriage ban.

Fred Karger, the founder of Californians Against Hate, submitted the complaint to the enforcement division of the California Fair Political Practices Commission, the agency that regulates campaign activity.

Karger alleges that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ran out-of-state phone banks, produced commercials and provided other services that must be reported as contributions to the Proposition 8 campaign.

"Let's be transparent here. If they are going to play in the political process, they need to abide by the rules like everyone else," he said.

Karger also notified the attorneys general of California and Utah, where the Mormon church is headquartered.

Churches have long played a role in the political process. Had it not been for the Churches, the black civil rights movement would not have gotten off the ground. Churches have long played a vital role in social issues. If you are going to strip the Mormon Church, then you will have to strip the gay churches for their role in supporting a no vote on Proposition 8.

This is a clear violation of anti-lobbying regulations regarding charitable organizations.

Revoke LDS Church 501(c)(3) Status
Pull their status is my vote.

Krager Alleges.

In other words, a Gay Activist is accusing a Church whose members actively campaigned in favor of traditional marriage of doing something illegal. Surprise Surprise.

The Church did not produce any commericals and did not organize phone banks. Individuals organized phone banks, not the Church. But how would that be different from Obama supporters from California going to Nevada to register voters? Anyone care to explain the difference?

Other services? Such as?

Another frivilous and baseless claim that will be debunked.

And as far as "let's be transparent", if the losers of Prop 8 would finally admit that this is current assault on Mormons is bigotry and sour grapes, that would be the ultimate display of 'transparency' of all.

Exactly. They ran a sleazy, lowball class campaign with no organization and now are scrambling to blame everyone but themselves.

I am thinking of going out there, telling everybody that I know God more than they do, preach my false words, and make money from it. I will make more than I do now doing this engineering gig, and I won't have to pay taxes!
Yep born again, born again and not paying taxes this time around! My huband always says we are in the wrong business.
