Had you read the thread, you would know that there was no 48-hour commitment. But instead you've been listening to people like Boehner and Pence. Big mistake...

What you fail to understand is that it would have been impossible for members of the House to have read the bill (much less comprehend it) before they had to vote on it. That is a fact!

But you don't give a crap do you?

How burdened are we in 2009 with paying off that Civil War debt. How about WWI, the Depression, or WWII?

And if you'd had or taken the time to pay attention, you would have known practically the hour and minute of every Rahm Emmanuel phone call that was made this week. There hasn't been any smoke-filled back-room stuff going on here.

This is the seventh version of the bill. It's been around for two-and-a-half weeks. Everyone in Congress has staff. They all know where it began, how it evolved, and what the final changes were to be. No one sat down today to read page 1 through page 1076 or whatever. The reason for that was that none of them needed to.

And going by your many posts directed to fellow (so to speak) posters, you've set the intellectual bar way to high for way too many.

Newsflash: "Daddy" inherited a whole sh*tload of Republican fallout. The economy tanked only a couple of months before he took office. If you seriously believe that Obama is now going to be able to do HALF of what he wanted to do, you live in la-la land. Instead, he has to devote the next 2 years--at least--trying to clean up the complete nightmare your precious little Texas cowboy left behind. And he's going to have to find a way to do while the Republican sh*theads in Congress try to take him down any way they can.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves. I've never seen a group of Americans so hateful and vicious towards their President. It would be one thing if this President had been in office for years, and had caused life to spiral down for the American people, but he's been in office for THREE WEEKS, and you can't spit on him fast enough. Sickening. Meanwhile, the President and Party who actually DID almost take down our country? You know, the one you VOTED FOR? TWICE. Give me a fu*king break. Disgusting.

"I've never seen a group of Americans so hateful and vicious towards their President."

Are you serious?

Yeah, he's been in office three weeks, and look at how predictably corrupt and indifferent to the real needs of the American people he is. The entire spending bill is nothing but pork and slush funds for his supporters. After this political payoff to his people, America is going to wake up once again and throw the lot of them out just like they did in 1994. And before you post something about Democrats being more popular than Republicans, let me remind you that no one was more surprised in 1994 than WJC. He didn't come out to talk to the press for a full day. Americans are only inattentive to a certain point.

Anyone have a link?

I know during the campaign, President Obama made a point saying all Bills pending will be available to the public for comments...
Just another campaign LIE, per usual; for any politician. Notice that they did not want the public to read the spending bill they just passed. Of course it won't start many jobs, but it sure does spend all of the moeny we don't have.
