Pertaining to your original question----yes as a whole they are ignorant about global issues. Thats why we fight universal healthcare. My brother lives in Ireland for many years and I still have alot of family in Europe and their healthcare system is FAR better then ours. The world works mostly on supply and demand so there are lots of EASY solutions that we never run with.Considering most of the worlds oil is in the middle east,if we drilled here we would have more of a supply which would make oil rates drop significantly. So offshore drilling is a good idea if at the same time we start slowly switching off of fossil fuels so when we run out,who cares?Solar, wind and hydro are definitely the answer. We do have to mend relations with alot of countries to re-open trade agreements as well which will also bring down import prices and will open markets for exports and will create new jobs across this country.
The problem is Bush wanted us to be feared and then respected so he broke alot of ties. We ALWAYS need to be respected first and after that for countries to know if it hits the fan, then we will respond and not attack a country that had nothing to do with it.

Hate is a strong word to use when you're going to make generalizations like, "the rest of the world". There are those that hate us and those that love us but, the majority neither hate nor love us and instead are mostly just very critical of us. Criticism is not necessarily hatred, although those that do hate us will have nothing to say to us except criticism. It has always been that way and will always be that way. The only thing that's changed (and a lot of Americans don't seem to realize this) is that this all applies to us (Americans), more so than any one else in the world. Some of us hate America, while others love it but, most now criticize it more than anything (although as it always will be, it's often confused with hatred). The real test comes when it's no longer possible (for what ever reason) to remain neutral and just voice criticizm and a person or a country must take one side.....see how many people or countries stop criticizing then and suddenly with stand with you or us (America). Actually it's more like they want to stand behind us (where it's safe) while we lead.

Barack Obama lived in Indonesia for two years, and attended an Indonesian public school with both Muslims and Christians.

Thanks for proving the OP's point, albeit not in a way he would've liked.
Well, your just ignoring well known facts about his life. Stick your head in the sand if that's what makes you happy. You probably believe in "global warming" too, right? How did I know that?

By the way, many of these facts come from Obama himself.

Source these well-known facts, please.

I "believe in global warming" in the same sense that I "believe Edinburgh is in Scotland." Climatologists know the average temperature of the earth's surface has warmed; they can measure it. See, there are these newfangled things called thermometers.

Whether the current global warming trend will continue, whether it's man-made, whether it's reversible, and whether the worst-case scenarios will come to pass if the trend continues, are all outside my sphere of expertise; and I don't conjecture on things I don't know anything about. You ought to consider adopting the same rule.

They aren't facts. You know, when someone challeneges you, it makes you look less an idiot if you go back and check your information rather than merely repeating the same garbage. Anyone who sees this exchange can spend three or four minutes on google and conclude which of us is telling the truth.

Or is the Internet a Muslim conspiracy?

Considering the huge number of Americans don't even have a passport, or worse, never even venture outside of their region, it is not surprising.

Do you remember the day the towers were hit with the arab women yelping in the streets and the american flag being burned? Don't be delusional! We are DEFINITELY hated by alot of countries and individuals across the world.I have travelled all over and can confirm this. There are places that are jealous but others who do flat out hate our ideals.

Has nothing to do with ideals, has everything to do with giving Israel $100 billion over the last generation to kill Arabs.

We always say that we are the best country but thats like saying you have the best pizza without trying another.Alot of people if they lived abroad for even 6 months would probably never return. You can't really have an opinion without knowing both sides.I have been all over and I think we potentially are the best but after the last 8 years we have alot of cleaning up to do!

Has everything to do with ideals. We gave Egypt money----then Bush told them they didn't have to pay it back.We have equal rights for women, they don't.Alot of middle eastern countries use an eye for an eye justice,we don't.$100 billion to kill Arabs? Then why did we defend Kuwait? Why did Libya and Saudi Arabia try to offer help after twin towers if they know we're trying to kill them and why did we fund Afghanistan and provide weapons to them for their fight against Russia? Your opinion is flat out wrong.Israel is our biggest ally in the middle east and we do fund them as we have other countries in the middle east.

Except for a few isolated oddballs like Sayyid Qutb, they never cared what we do in our country. Most of them still don't. ETA: You know, the more I think about this, the more obvious a case of projection it is. We're the ones insisting on bringing the benefits of our way of life to their benighted selves, by force if necessary. But we imagine ourselves being coerced to follow their cultural mores when the truth is precisely the other way around. As it says in the Bible someplace, "the guilty flee when no man pursueth."

Kuwait is not a nuisance to Israel. I never said we want to kill all Arabs.

Before 1948 we rarely had enemies in the Middle East. In fact, in 1948 Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Libya were all sound U.S. allies. By 1980, as a result of the destablization caused by the Arab-Israeli conflict, all of them had fallen to Islamists or radical socialists.

The number of allies we'd instantly gain by dumping Israel overboard is an absolutely conclusive reason to get on with the dumping.
