I think that's really how most people feel - at least in the modern world. And it applies to gay people too. I had a few women come onto me when I was younger - I'm sure they knew that I was gay - and it made me uncomfortable.

You also have a very good point. Religion, and Christianity in general, does not allow people to have their own opinions. This is why I left the church, and I find that science is much more promising. Some of the theories that people have proposed for God, are very strange indeed. Until there is absolute and verified proof for this metaphysical deity, as a scientist, I must negate the theory that he exists, because there is simply no proof other than a book that has been changed and rewritten to fit the needs of the author thousands of times.

i dont hate black people, i just disapprove of the way they live their lives

^^^^ im being facetious.

thats what most people on here sound like.

a truly honest respectable individual will not look at people as gay, straight, or black or white. they will look at the way the person treats their fellow man and then agree or disagree with them. thats what i do.

how i got to that point was part religion, part real world. i let the imbeciles keep the religious hate. i take the religious/spiritual love.

easy as that.

oh and i hate that "theyre cramming it down my throat" mentality.

i dont think they cram it down my throat, no more than we do when we act like oursleves. they are just being who they are. no one is cramming anything.

let and let live.

what if i were muslim?

that means in my eyes you are going to suffer in the after life. you should have joined my cult!! now you must suffer!

what if i was jewish?

i guess to trully be able to find peace in the afterlife i should subscribe to a lil bit of karanic teaching and a tad of the torah and a pinch of king james.

then ill be safe.

all i am concerned with is being a good person on this earth. i dont hate anyone. being good on earth and doing no harm will bring me peace in death. i am fine with that. and i dont need to read a bible or be a christian for that.

do no harm. thats how i live.

The way I see it, it's simple math. For those that don't believe in God and his teachings, you're hanging your hat on one option. You better be 100% sure that He doesn't exist. If you're right, call it even and enjoy the afterlife in 6 feet of dirt. However, if you're 100% wrong, the alternative will be quite unbearable.

Us Christians, on the other hand, only have to be 50% sure. Why? Because there's a 50 percent chance that we'll get it right, and our heavenly reward will be awaiting us. The other 50 percent just means we were wrong and we'll just go enjoy our afterlife in 6 feet of dirt as well.

Simple-minded response? Sure, i'll concede that. There are no easy answers to a topic like this.

But while you're debating how bad you want to be in a homosexual marriage here on Earth, you may want to consider the simple math behind it all. Earthly desires won't do you any good in the afterlife.

Substitute Christianity with your religion of choice. The same logic still applies no matter which God-fearing religion you follow. It's simply food for thought.

Other religions that come to mind are Greek Mythology and Native American spirituality.

The simple math... debating what they want on earth...

They don't get to choose because someone else wants to choose for them.

The problem is a boundary dispute that religion has seen fit to assert itself in secular law which is the arm of man, not the hand of god. Religious are obliged to honor free will in all beings because once that line gets crossed, the religion itself gets used for nefarious purpose to manipulate the masses. The relationship between they and their maker is abused. Religion as government is the taliban.

I did not reject religion. I reject organizations who abuse religion. This includes the catholic church I was raised. I believe Quakers are the closest thing to walking their talk Christians out there. Other side of the spectrum; I'm not here to badmouth anyone's religion, but if you're too busy chasing after the beam in others eyes, you'll never deal with your own. That is, and always was, your lifelong work.

You know, all I did was say hello. If you're going to read some deeper meaning into that...
