7 advertisers? That's all? LOL

He's not worried about it. I'm positive.

This won't sink him. Rush has made a career out of saying outrageous things. This isn't even the biggest setback for him. Remember when he got fired from Monday Night Football for remarks many thought racist? It's still fun to watch him squirm though. It's also nice that that the GOP has such a huge liability.

Is that why he came on all bluster on Friday and tried to issue a hollow apology yesterday?

Rush may be the biggest contributing factor in Obama's reelection. The republicans cannot bring themselves to repudiate him even though he has pissed off every sane woman on the planet, and a lot of their boyfriends who would prefer that their girlfriends not be celibate.

He has plenty of money, true, but his fifteen minutes is up. I look for him to join the ranks with Imus before long.

Yeah, as long as he has a fan base, advertisers will advertise. And as long as he says obnoxious things, he will have a fan base. I'm personally not a fan, I don't like his attitude or his style. But I respect him for owning up to his mistakes, unlike Bill Maher who is equally outrageous and refuses to apologize for it.

Why should anyone bother to "repudiate" him? He is an entertainer.

Reminds me of when the GLBT community launched the Just Say No to Dr. Laura campaign and got all her spineless, PC advertisers to withdraw and put an end to her new TV show. Certain special interest groups can be extremely powerful. Free speech isn't exactly "free," when its on the air. He may need to go the way of Beck and get his own internet show where he is not dependent on advertisers.

Then why do people take him so seriously? And why do so many Republicans take their cues from him?
