Considering that conservatism built this country, I would say it is a great accomplishment. And even bigger one would be to defeat the liberal idiots who are trying to wreck it.
I would say that the number one accomplishment of Conservatism, and conservatives is The United States of America. The founders were the epitome of conservative thought. They lived and breathed it.
The founders of this country were brilliant men. Few since have so profoundly changed the world. Believers in the unalienable God given rights of man, the idea that individuals have exclusive rights to their intellecual property, and inventions, and the fruits of their labor.

you are getting lost. the free market and the exploitation of it did. now it's reared it's ugly head and your singin a different tune.
Interestingly, I'm conservative & my family and friends are also
1. We're all doctors, pilots, engineers...you know, pretty well educated
2. We don't really care who you marry
3. We live all over the country
4. Our stance on abortion is variable; some pro-life, others pro-choice
5. Many regularly donate their time and skills; others donate their money
6. Some attend church regularly, others attend occasionally, and some not at all
I'm just not understanding the generalizations. It doesn't reflect my reality. Do the generalizations reflect other conservatives' reality?
haha, so are you saying they just call themselves conservatives for the hell of it??
Almost 100 posts and all we have to show for it is a dubious at best claim on the Declaration of Independence, the Civil War (by a GOP that would hardly recognize itself) and a list of Reagan appointments and budget victories...
Not much of legacy. Maybe the A Team will show up and help the scrubs. One can only hope.
I'm just curious, what would you consider to be the greatest accomplishments of the conservative movement as the principles of conservatism are enunciated today?
Post'em if you got'em.
Your bottom line says it all. Translation: "Post 'em so I can argue 'em." That was apparent even before I looked at the third post (yours again ) of the thread. No need to look further.
For the record, the principles of conservatism of today bear little resemblance to the principles we boomers were raised with following on the heals of the "greatest generation" until the progressive "madness" of the '60s and '70s. Things have gone downhill since.
