I looked senator allen up, surprise...No college education whatsoever. I guess they don't teach science in Arizona High schools.

Science and education are "liberal" concepts. All we really need is the Bible. Welcome to the enlightened world of the GOP

I would reword that to science and higher/ private education. The liberal public school system, run by liberal teachers' unions is nothing to brag about.

They do teach science in High School. It is negated by the Christian Science taught in Church and does not include experimentation, just rote memorization.

I am generally pretty conservative, but its a conservatism based on skepticism and maybe even cynicism so I draw the line way before this kind of anti-science creationist bunk. I wince every time I hear it and I actually feel sorry for adults who are deluded enough to say it. Oh well, the left has its Troofers and the right has its Creationist. Sigh

I took my kid to see the Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson AZ last year. Amazing place by the way.

Anyway, while we were in the dinosaur exhibit, one of the mothers started yelling at her son for looking at the dinosaur bone display telling him that, "We don't believe in any of that garbage, it's put here by the Devil." Then she ushered him out of the room.

I remember thinking to myself at the time that she must be one of the voters in AZ that put the current legislature into office.

What % of Americans believe the earth is only 6000 years old?
