The 14 star Victoria Cross , known as the Confederate Battle Flag, means different things to different people.
Actually, it's 13 stars, not 14. And it was originally the 2nd Naval Jack flag, that was later adopted by the Confederate troops at the battle flag, after 4 other flags were used. (starting with 7 stars, then 9, 11, and finally 13.)
But yes, you are correct; it's different things to different people.
And didn't we just have this debate a few weeks/month or so ago?
I guess its understandable if one had ancestors in the Civil War,thanks for the varied responses.
As far as the 10 Commandments, not everyone considers them to be universal law. There are many different religions,I don't put a menorah on my lawn,so I was curious.
To me, the 10 commandments, are not so much religious as just a damn good set of rules to live life by.
Gee this is getting old
Do you mean the "Confederate flag" or the Stars and Bars . They are very different. skip the race issue, while I can see why a Person of color [ sorry your not black and I'm not white] may take offense to it. There were also Negros that fought for the south. And also Negro slave owners. And yes also not Black [ there I said it] slaves
yanno, people post the 10 commandments on their lawn thus indicating that it cannot be taken down. See, it can't be on public property. Not in the schools and not in the courts.
So, those that have it are saying: Take it down now, come on?
Those that just wanted it out of the school and out of the courts are saying: .........but, I don't care. I think it looks splendid next to the gnome.
