We've come a long ways since Guess Who's Coming To Dinner but we still have a long ways to go, I hope our kids at least see a huge improvement in their lifetimes.

I've said this 100x..Racism didn't magically end on 1/20/09. It's embedded in American culture. It was apart of our constitution. The hatred will slowly ease but in a country where power is ever so coveted, people will find anything to assume superiority over another and race is the easiest to identify as a defiencey/weakness.
Agreed. All those who think it all went away on January 20th are in for a rude awakening.
You say this as though racism can only go one direction. All people are capable of and subjected to racism. That is one of the first things that needs to be learned. As well, this will never go away.
hmmm, no racism before whites got here huh? hmmm. you know this because you are 550 years old? who is your health care provider? I guess what they would have had back then would be tribism. the tribes didn't get along.
Duhh, so what if the tribes didnt get along, it was'nt as if it were of a different race trying to undermine the other. Do you even have a clue what Racism IS???

It can really only be done in small circles, that's where you have the most influence.
you can talk to people until you are blue in the face, but you can't change people. people have a right to their opinions. I live in NC. while this town is basically a college/retirement town, I have been out to the outskirts. I get looked at like I'm crazy when I call black people sir and mam. it's just how I refer to people when I don't know their name. I have only run into racism a couple times all the years I have lived in the south. I ran into it a lot more in the rural north.

Exactly! White folks are not the originators of racism as folks like to proclaim them to be nor are they the only ones to engage in racism.
