I remember when Barry Goldwater was running for president, and some Democrats said he wasn't a real citizen because Arizona was a territory when he was born. That didn't go very far. McCain was born in the Canal Zone which was an unincorporated territory. That was ruled irrelevant.

There is absolutely no credibility to this nonsense at all. The State of Hawaii has repeatedly verified the certificate is valid. His grandfather's religion has nothing to do with it at all.

I am less than overwhelmed with our President. There are legitimate criticisms to be made of this administration. But this birther nonsense has way overlived its usefullness. Let it go.

Right-wing stupidity is like kudzu. It doesn't need promotion by anyone. It's noxious and invasive and can take over a whole town if sensible people don't go dig it out by the roots and discard it.

Oh, that makes as much sense as telling a kid to ignore the bully. That puts the victim in charge of not only his own behavior but the bully's behavior too. And anyone who has ever been bullied knows goddam well that no bully ever went away because the victim attempted to ignore him. Instead, the bully became more empowered.

The whole birther phenomena would go away if the powers-that-be on the right told the birthers to put a sock in it and shut up, their crazy talk is an embarrassment.

What was that Research 2000 poll - 50% or thereabouts of the GOP constituents were birthers or "unsure"? I think "the right" may need to work a bit on their message management.

In the meantime, I'll let sanrene and you figure out whether you just called him a crackpot or a liberal operative.

Talk about intellectual dishonesty. When there is a story that is unflattering to Palin or any other neo con the OP is the first to call the sources for such stories unreliable and mock people who "fall for" these unreliable sourced stories. But when in comes to President Obama the OP would quote an unflattering story as gospel if it were scribbled in crayon on the outhouse wall.
