so the only thing that qualifies someone as right wing is if they're proven to be a registered republican? i think a lot of right-wingers on this forum would be pretty insulted by that claim.

No, the Nazis hated leftists--that's why they imprisoned (and killed) communists and socialists in Germany. Its also part of the reason Hitler began an ultimately disastrous war with the Soviet Union in 1941--because he hated the Soviets and their communist ideology. During the Spanish Civil War as well, the German Fascists supported the right-wing Spanish Nationalists against the leftists.
If you don't believe totalitarian governments can be right wing, you might need to open up a political science textbook. And right wing policies do not necessarily mean small government. Look at President Bush's administration for example.

you are taking things way too far. You stated that all 3 of those people were right wingers and you have no proof that all 3 were. The only proof you have is that 1 was a republican. Yes, republicans are more on the right than the dems, so what was your point?

You're wrong, they weren't fighting the USSR because they were communist, they were fighting for power and control. They both shared alot of the same ideologies, but their egos couldn't share after a while. They did have a plan to split Europe up and they both would take a piece, but that didn't work out due to ego's.

I wish it were. I wish it were. If it was then I'd vote Republican. But the fact is that the government grew to record sizes over the last 30 years during the three administrations of Reagan, Bush I and Bush II. Government employment and budget actually shrank during Clinton's administration (as well as balancing its budget).
And as far as letting people run their own lives? Since when have Republican administrations done that? What about attempts to legislate morality such as trying to prevent gay marriage? What about trying to abolish legal abortions? What about attempting to introduce prayer in public schools?
