Its because the cost of living keeps increasing and payscales do not keep up. It's too difficult for entry level jobs.
Republicans cater to the RICH~
"Republicans cater to the RICH~"
I have worked for rich republicans and rich democrats but I never blamed either because I was not making enough. When one quits blaming someone else for their problems, they may just find an answer to that problem.
You stop thinking that getting a degree is your ticket to a well paying job. If what you're doing isn't working, try something else. Stop blaming a few CEOs for your shortcomings.
One of my best friends lives on PB, doesn't have a degree, and has created a very well paying marketing position for himself. He's got contracts all over the state to run marketing programs, has created his own staffing companies to staff his events and is doing very well for himself.
If you're not getting where you want by doing what you're doing, it's not someone else's fault. It's yours.
Wealth is a mindset and you apparently don't have that mindset. You've got a victim mindset.
It's not nearly as black and white as you present it.
You can 'want' whatever you want and even work hard for it, but if the availability isn't there...then it just isn't there.
Your friend is just ONE example among many cases where the situation went the other way. And while a degree certainly isn't the only way...there are MANY jobs that won't even hire if you do not have a degree.
This economy is bad for far more reasons than simply people 'not having the mindset'.
According to this report from the AFL-CIO, young people under 35 are strugging to gain independence and make ends meet in very large numbers. 1 in three young adults under 35 live with their parents, 31% don't have health insurance and only 31% report making enough money to pay all the bills and save at least some of their income. They are burdened with student loans and are putting off traditional "rites of passage" like buying a house and having children.
So what is causing the problem? Is it the generation itself or outside pressures out of their control?
If anything, let's not forget this: we're in a recession!
It's not really about 'young people' not making it, there are very experienced workers (who have been in the workforce for 10 years or more) who have been laid off and cannot pay their mortgages etc.
We were in a recession in the 80's as well...we got through it...
Oh for gods sakes. There''s many reasons why people live where they live, family, job, relationships, or maybe just maybe it's because they simply love it where they live. GASP!!!!!!! God forbid someone should live where they live because they honestly & truly like it, it makes them feel good. Go take your bad attitude & unleash it on someone else.
He's telling it like it is... Moving away from family and friends for a better job is not something that just happened in the last few years..

Yes, it is.
There's a serious problem with a victim mentality in this country. Everyone feels like they're owed something just because they live in this country.
The most successful people in this world don't have degrees. They started companies from nothing. They found a need and they filled it.
It IS black and white. If something's not working for you, find something that will. Can't get a job? Create your own job.
Seriously? I don't know if I should be flattered or offended.
I think you should be flattered. You haven't shown any bias...
