President Obama is offering a public option not a government healthcare takeover. HOWEVER, George Bush presided over a complete government takeover of airport security..Yep, he fired all those private security companies and private workers and created an entire government agency with governmnet workers to take that duty over. No competition, just a COMPLETE takeover. Everbody that stands between you and a flight wears a government badge.
So, conservatives, where were you when this was going down? It took a good while to complete this takeover. Was this BJTP (Before Joe The Plumber)? Why no outrage? Was it the fear of another attack? If that was the case, people losing their lives via lack of healthcare far outnumber those who have lost their lives due to terrorism.

Is it just hypocrisy?
Tank, I can't co-sign you on this one. Considering it was those private companies that allowed those terrorists on the plane, the same that were on the no-fly list, I applaud him for this move.
Obama's trying to stop the Bush bleeding and Bush bleeds like a lamb.
How about answer the question?
One job of the government is to protect the country.....right? yes. the job of the government is NOT to provide health coverage for everyone. there. that is your answer.

I too applaud him for this move. My point is that sometimes government must step in when private industry fails as it has with health insurance. I didn't oppose Bush then and don't oppose Obama now but many on the GOP side have choosen the latter and not the former.

Where does it say that it's not? Healthcare may save us from a pandemic. An airplane isn't the only threat to our countries safety.

A: What did you win?
B: Not sure what you're getting at by comparing airport security screeners with government run healthcare for 300M people.
