Good speech... but that's as far as it goes . What matters is the actual bill that he ultimately signs. And as far as I am concerned... he has NO credibility whatsoever after trying to cram that 1000+ page piece of socialist crap down the throats of the American people like he did ! Majority are not that stupid after all as he has just learned obviously .

But now because of his speech tonight we're supposed to believe he wants to sign a bill that is completely contradictory to the one he just tried force feed us ?! Sorry but try to fool me once shame on you, try to fool me again and it won't work as your already an idiot and untrustworthy in my eyes...

As long as the American people READ ANY BILL CAREFULLY going through congress and have their voices heard on it (as currently being done) the socialist agenda will remain in check a bit longer !

Bottom line... it's all rhetoric and talk is cheap. SHOW ME THE BILL screwball ! Million to one the "new" bill will be similar to the last one .

The speech basically told me that he is going to work on getting democrats to vote for his plan and let the pubs sit on the sideline and attack like they have been doing. The speech only confirmed to me that he is not going to work with pubs when it comes to healthcare. It really boils down to the public option and neither side is going to concede a inch.

I could not agree more.

If one can save money by cutting fraud and abuse in Medicare, why does it have to wait? Why not do it now? Why has it not been done already if there are such savings to be had?

Sounds as believable as 'the check is in the mail'.

I'd frankly like the same answers you would, because at 53, this car may not have a lot of miles left on it, and I want to know that when I decide to 'hang 'em up', that I won't spend any sleepless nights fretting about Medicare, or health care in general...
The question has been asked REPEATEDLY tonight on several threads but nobody has provided an answer. I'm eagerly awaiting a detailed response as well.

46 newly insured with 27 million of them illegal criminals.

Nice try Obama, but we got your scamming down.

Savings for who? It will drive the cost of many of us up, not down and hand losers free healthcare.

Now I see the savings.

Give granny a pill, cut off costly operations to old folks and people who are useless to the Obama idea, ration healthcare and make sure all those people are ill do not get any care if they cannot help Obama.

Now I get the savings.

He is not calling it CUTS, he twisted it into savings.

Totally true. He came out strong, knowledgable and showed the republicans for the liars they are without coming out and calling them liars.

Really? Seriously, really?

You actually believe that the White House drafted one of the FIVE bills that were out there? The White House is merely considering drafting their version at this point.

White House Considers Drafting Its Own Health Reform Bill - Political News - FOXNews.com

Then you claim to READ ANY BILL CAREFULLY in the next paragraph when you yourself don't have a clue about any of the bills. C'mon man, read a freakin newspaper.

Yep. In other words - he can't pay for it. Hellooooo... higher taxes and health care rationing.

See I totally disagree with your interpretation of the speech.

I heard him say over and over and over again about the republican ideas he wanted to use and how they (both sides) had to work together. "I still believe we can" etc etc. At first it upset me...'What? work with those gun freaks and birthers?"

But after hearing him speak, I slowly began to think, "Hey, maybe if they work together I may actually be able to afford health insurance for once in my adult life. And God knows this bipartisan B.S. does get tiring."

He even said he was going to do something BUSH suggested for crying out loud!

Why I have no idea ...but if he's willing to throw a bone to that universally hated ol' dog he's not just blowing wind at the 'pubs' ....as you call them.

Anyways YES HE CHANGED MY MIND.

Maybe they can work something out.
Maybe we as a country can work something out?

Who knows.
