Jill Abramson, the managing editor for news, agreed with me that the paper was “slow off the mark,” and blamed “insufficient tuned-in-ness to the issues that are dominating Fox News and talk radio.” She and Bill Keller, the executive editor, said last week that they would now assign an editor to monitor opinion media and brief them frequently on bubbling controversies. Keller declined to identify the editor, saying he wanted to spare that person “a bombardment of e-mails and excoriation in the blogosphere.”
What a odd interpretation on their admission of, at the very least, a liberal filter to the "news" of the day.
Since most potential controversies have to deal with obama, I would say this is a good thing, if the NYT could be trusted to be unbiased and objective. That's a big IF and so far, they have failed miserably.
Of course, this phantom person will have no contact with readers and the like, instead, he/she will continue to remain in the bubble of liberaland that is the NYT.
MSM? Sheepies, you´re trying to have it both ways, as usual. You want to pretend you´re the brave little band of oppressed victims, but you´re constantly bragging that Faux is the number one ¨news¨ channel in the US.

Either Faux is number one or it´s not.
If it is, then IT is the mainstream, no?
None of the MSM give objective news. It's biased infotainment at best.
Get away from the MSM to get some real news. That means start reading foreign news sites.

You shot yourselves in the foot by goading The Times into creating this position. Faux and the rest of the RW media would prefer you all just stay inside the special world they work so hard to create and sustain for you. Maybe, MAYBE it´ll help some of you sheepies break out of that pen.
(Of course s/he´ll have contact with readers, it´ll be in blog form. I dont blame those editors for not releasing the name of the person whose task this will be, the RW´s propensity to send its venom through sneaky, anonymous hate letters and emails being infamous even among people who generally dont pay attention to Glenn Beck and the like.)

Apples to oranges, oh desperate one. Print media and cable news is much different. A lot of the stories on cable originate from the print media.

They´ll never do that.
I just want them to snap out of this ¨Faux is not the MSM¨ trance they keep themselves under.

I was alluding to both parties delusianne.
The left drool over any Huffington Post article like it was the bible.
Take an article for what it is and where it comes from.
Find the other side and read that.
Make up your own mind on how you feel.
The constant bashing of left vs right "biased" news gets old.
We all know which way certain MSM sites lean.
Instead of bashing..just find an equivalent story from "YOUR" news site and post. That will get both sides of the story shown.

Well, I compared the Big 3 broadcast networks to cable Faux ratings and yes, you´re right, more people do still tune in to network news than cable. For the time being. So, all right....glad you all are still just noisy, and not big.
OT, but check this out!
Here's a switch. Tonight, Fox News Channel aired, in its entirety, a speech given by Pres. Obama at the Congressional Black Caucus Phoenix Awards Dinner. While MSNBC remained with "Lockup" and CNN aired a "Larry King Live" from earlier this week, from 9:26pm to 9:51pm, FNC broadcast a tape-playback of the speech.
***
One story FNC did not mention today - Glenn Beck Day in Mt. Vernon, Washington, the FNC host's hometown. Earlier today in Seattle Beck spoke to a crowd of 7,000 at Safeco Field. Tonight he gets the ceremonial keys to the city of Mt. Vernon.
Interestingly, FNC's airing of Obama's speech interrupted the 9pmET weekend re-air of "Glenn Beck" for about 25 minutes.
