And I'd venture to say you didn't serve in the military either.

Perhaps we should raise and teach our sons to respect woman and not think it is ok to do whatever they want to them. I have two sons and both my husband and I are and will do everything in our power to ensure they are taught to respect woman and protect them not exploit or control them.

Women should not be prevented from serving solely because there are men that feel they "own" them and want to control them.

women don't need to be protected by men. if that's the case then why have them in the military at all? those men need to learn how to keep their hands to themselves.

Women in the military need to learn how to protect themselves, what's the point of being in the military if you don't know how to fight?

Do they even teach self defense?

I agree.

Uh-huh. In the article posted by the OP the individual who was making some of these claims about mistreatment of women was the disgraced female commander of Abu Ghraib. She didn't start making these claims until she was removed from command and demoted.

I will not believe a woman who screwed up big time and was punished for that who goes around whining about how she and others were mistreated because of their gender and tries to blame her own failure on men.

And I remember the pictures from Abu Ghraib having women in them abusing the prisoners...... hardly the helpless victims their disgraced commander tries making them out to be.

Maybe the other accusations in the article are true, but that one certainly is not from a reliable source. I believe the Army on that story.

Lots of US military guys are scumbags.

The other day I was walking around near a US army base about 30 miles from my apartment and I walked by a few soldiers as I was talking on my cell phone.

They started yelling back at me "Hey look at that p**sy talking on his cell phone back there! That dude is a p**sy!" Then they walked into traffic and raised their hands up, forcing traffic to stop for them as they walked through the busy street as they said "Hold on M F'ers, we're crossing the street."

I swear these guys are total goons. I can't stand them.

The military now is desperate for recruits, so they start accepting the lowest common denominator inbred criminal type. Not surprising.

I am glad you are raising your sons to be that way. However, I will say my observation is that today young man do not even have to try hard because teenage girsl are becoming more and more agressive in chasing the boys. They are pretty good at later claiming inocense if a boy goes too far.

You have a great day.
