I can see it would cost that much, here in Atlanta the creep that shot the judge here and his secretary, a deputy and a fed agent drained our city dry in just legal defense
it was horrible for the victims families and our city every one knew he was guilty as hell, but he got to play the system
you think it is not going to cost this in security, defense teams, shutting the city down is not going to cost this much and maybe more???
dream on
Security for trial of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed would cost $200M a year: sources

the move to NYC for the trial is a clever way to defuse the conflict. unless we let them go the mideast will be enemies forever. its an over the top good will jester. the same disfunctional justice system that turns vicious american criminals loose on society will also turn gitmo murderers loose.
in the mideast the gitmo boys would have already been executed, within weeks of 911.

Read the thread from which I posted the link.

I don't believe your chicken little story of "Sharia Law" is coming.

We're not at war with countries, we're at war with terrorists therefore they are not afforded the same rights as soldiers of another country.

It has to be earned by the people themselves. Then they will cherish it and guard it.

You just can't invade a country, overthrow the government, put "your guy" in place and call it a democracy. It just doesn't work that easy.
Germany, Japan, and Italy. But I do understand your point since our agitation of the SU and it summarily collapsing was based on that very premise.
