WASHINGTON – The top Democrat in the U.S. Senate apologized on Saturday for comments he made about Barack Obama's race during the 2008 presidential bid.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described then-Sen. Barack Obama as "light skinned" and "with no Negro dialect." Obama is the nation's first African-American president.

Biggest question is how did we get people like Reid in seats of power?

I don't see a problem with his comment or the apology. Are you trying to intimate that blacks do not have a different way that they talk? For some blacks that is just the way they talk. Others seem to turn it on or off depending on who they are talking to.

I hope you are not trying to say that this is not the case. One would have to be oblivious not to have noticed. In fact, sometimes I can't even understand blacks when they talk.

It's no secret that the liberals are the racists and just use minorities to further their aganda.

Refreshing honesty. I agree.

It's a shame that Reid felt a need to apologize.

ok, put the shoe on the other foot and say John Boener said this. The lemmings would be up to page 82 of their usual drivel with ignorant name calling and ASSuming all non-lemmings must be racists.

DOUBLE STANDARD ANYONE?

Little Bit o' Racism, much?

Bigoted much?

Jefferson Davis, the ultimate example of racism, pardoned by Jimmy Carter + Democratic congress

The hypocrisy just keeps on coming!

Just because a Democrat said that... <shakes head>
