Agra capitalism, at its finest!

"In the past couple of years, food trucks have become popular across the United States, in cities like Los Angeles, New York City, Portland, and San Francisco. You can find nearly every kind of food on them, from typical fare like tacos, to the more exotic like fusion Asian-Mexican cuisine, and even sweet treats like ice cream and cupcakes.

As I have written about on Care2, the local food and sustainable food movements have also been growing.

So, it isn’t surprising that some clever entrepreneurs are capitalizing on both trends by bringing farm fresh produce to those in both urban and rural areas. They are calling themselves Mobile Farm Trucks or Mobile Farmers’ Markets, and they don’t just cater to high-end shoppers, but provide low-income residents with affordable, fresh produce, grown using sustainable and/or organic methods."

Cost of universal health care solved.

There is another glaring example that the myth of capitalism and free markets is really a sham.

This industry is actually oligopoly that begs for and receives government bailouts. Why doesn't any scream and shout about these corporate welfare queens milking the system out of tax payer money?

There shenanigans have a direct impact on the nation's health.

Those that make statements about national security should investigate the posted links.
How about we tax people based upon their 'Hot or Not" ratings.

Or better yet, their BMI?

How about if the govt start profiling those that are prone to quitting school, use any and all illegal drugs, engage in random unprotected sex, engage in criminal activity or get fat and make them pick up the tab? I suspect they will drain the "free health care" coffers before anyone else does.

Problem solved.

I'm curious, how many of these "products un-nutritiously high in processed sugar, sodium, fructose corn syrup; tax McDonald's, Dominoes, BK and all the fast food chains; slap a big fat juicy tax on the firearms industry; and for good measure the producers and users of pollutants in our environment" applies to you?

WTF are you trying to say?

You claim to be a doc, with language arts skills of an 6th grader.

Your sentence makes no logical sense.

One looney idea of giving even more money to our DC nitwits to throw around begets another.

Your idea of adding more of a tax burden to the citizens, particularly in the economy makes no sense.

No, a doc1. But only on teh internets....

To match your reading comprehension skills. Admittedly, I was educated by unionized public workers.

Fair enough. I'll try again.

Of all of the things things you identified that you want to tax (i.e. "products un-nutritiously high in processed sugar, sodium, fructose corn syrup; tax McDonald's, Dominoes, BK and all the fast food chains; slap a big fat juicy tax on the firearms industry; and for good measure the producers and users of pollutants in our environment"), how many of those things do you partake of?

Sorry for the brief intrusion by the previous witch doctor.

Now time to move on from the irrelevant to the relevant.

This is not a bad suggestion to help rural America.

"A coordinated export marketing policy focused on that segment of our economy where America's long standing agricultural tradition not only excels but now has world predominance, could well prove a bonanza for middle America. The states of Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska and Minnesota grow more than 50% of the nation's corn, the nations largest crop. The other corn producing States including Indiana, Wisconsin, South Dakota Kansas, Ohio and Kentucky would benefit greatly as well. Altogether, 39% percent of the entire world's corn crop was harvested in these States in 2009.

Consider what it might do for the economies of these States, for its workers, for its Middle Class, for our Main Streets. But perhaps, and sadly, it's all too far away from Wall Street for the Beltway gang to pay any heed. Or will we see prosperity and a dynamic in the nation once again, as it was hailed years ago in "Oklahoma!" where the "corn grows as high as an elephant's eye"!!"

China might even dominate agra in the years to come.

"While few would confess that the sight of a large warehouse looming on the horizon stirs thoughts of delicious produce, new technology being employed in China may very well change that perception.

The factory uses a hi-tech computer-controlled growth system, which makes it able to grow plants twice as fast and have an output 10 to 20 times greater than a traditional farm, helping to meet the growing market for high-end pesticide-free produce in China's big cities."

I love the ideal of universal health care.
There's a problem - it's not a right.
Government has criminalized or restricted access to medical care and medicine.
You can only buy and sell care and medicine, by government's permission and licensing.

How about this:
UNIVERSAL health care means everyone can care for anyone - you exercise free choice.
[] Decriminalize giving health care;
[] Decriminalize the trade and possession of medicine and equipment;
[] Expand opportunities for medical education;
[] Offer credentials (not licenses) by supervised examination, regardless of where or how one learned medicine - including apprenticeships;
[] The only government function is to be a credential bank available to the public; and
[] Eliminate tort abuse with "Satisfaction guaranteed, or your money back!" - and nothing more.

Care to explain? Maybe you mean when Bush blocked Canadian drug imports to protect big pharma's profits?

Including medical marijuana, right?

You mean more funding for higher education?

Sure... malpractice resulting in permanent complications or death can be fixed by just giving the money back.

It is illegal in many Single Payer countries to make a profit off of healthcare, that is why so many Western-civilized countries have eliminated healthcare insurance corporations. They have cut out the usury by completely cutting out the middlemen.

A medicare tax for all would be cheaper and more efficient .

Or like the Dems did just recently to keep the restrictions in place?

We can't purchase Rx in Canada, and you can no longer blame it on Bush.
It was, I believe, part of the deal struck to get Obamacare pushed through.
For our benefit, of course.
