Quite right. Refund the seniors the money that was extracted from their paychecks over the past 40 years and let them fund their own healthcare.

What is funny is how people demand the removal of these programs, but when even a fraction of them are actually removed they burst into tears and demand for more socialism.

You can't have it both ways. You wanna cut govt programs or not? I guess not. Or maybe tomorrow you want it again. And then you'll oppose it the day after. Whatever the mood fits.

What do you want? Obviously these fake conservatives want the government to pay for their care, but not for anyone else's. Seems pretty clear to me, and it makes me sick. It is hypocritical as hell.

It seems they oppose it on odd days and support it on even days? Is that how it works?

Yes, I have been paying for it too, and never collected a penny, and if I say I want it gone, then I am not going to cry when it actually happens.

When the government reimburses me for all the medicare fees over the years,....then I will buy my own personal plan.

Government interference into the medical field cause this catastrophe, and when government created the artificial date of 65, the private insurers dropped their clients like a hot potato. Before Medicare, insurance was not so expensive for everyone,...but when the price-setting government got involved, premiums hit the roof.

I won't cry foul if they do away with Medicare, pay back stolen money, and allow an opt out feature similar to social security. Health care costs will likely come down as a result, since there will be zero opportunity for fraud and outbidding on medical equipment. Plus, I won't have to see those stupid "free scooter" commercials anymore.

I have known for over 20 years that I will never see all the money I have paid into these programs. It is childish for them to ask for their money back, because everyone knows it won't happen.

It's more childish to believe in forcing people to pay for X, then not offering X, nor the money one was forced to save for X in return. Only in a bizarro world would this be normal. No wonder people go out of their way to avoid paying taxes.

Agree. But its a great out for those who want to oppose a public health option but still get the benefits of it in their old age.

Rule of life....

If you don't plan for your future, your going to be scrambling looking for help, when it gets there.

Everyone in America should have a choice. Life is made up of choices. Make bad choice when your young, can lead to consequences when you get older. Because you made a bad choice, you want me to suffer now, because you didn't plan for your future?

The older population paid for DECADES into the social security program. Why would they not deserve consideration for their government-mandated contributions?

The healthcare program proposed by this administration is nothing more than a hand-out to those who moan the loudest.
