How is it possible at this stage in the debate for someone to accuse someone else of missing the point when their point is so out in left (or should I say right field) that it has utterly no relationship to the issue at hand?

Barriers between us and the goal of self-sustainability. Now that sounds wonkish enough... if it only meant something.
The mere fact that you don't understand what I said is a depressing reminder of how ignorant many people are.

Great post and great expository thinking! All the smart people voted NO, so we civilians will get to those precincts. Something will be done.

Can you respond to the posts asking you direct questions about the constitution? It is hard to take you seriously when you ignore questions relevant to the debate.

As you may know, the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate are trying to pass final legislation that would make major changes in the country’s health care system. Based on what you have read or heard about that legislation, do you generally favor it or generally oppose it?

Taking this amendment into account, it seems to me that most of todays federal legal/representational structures are built on shaky ground.

Hm, food for thought...

That is an accurate observation.

Sad part is our "so called" representatives take an Oath to uphold this Constitution and then feel they can disregard it.
Their actions show it.

Just because Congress passes something doesn't mean that it passes Constitutional muster.

Our Rule of Law is steadfast and our Republic form of government is intended to protect us from the "Whim of the Day" in legislation so that our direction will not be blown about like the wind.

It works if those in office don't disregard the precepts they swear to uphold but actually some hold in distain as even illustrated by Obama in his past interviews.

He says the Constitution says what the government can't do for you but not what it can do for you.

The cold fact is that there is good reason for that- to protect the citizens.

He is wrong on the second part mostly because it says what the government must do and that leaves the people free to control their own destiny and make thier own way in this world.

Sucess is their option and willingness.

The vast majority of the people did not want this bill yet it is forced upon them? This is fascism. We know better how to take care of you than you do. Just glad that my dad, a decorated WWII veteran didn't live to see this day when the freedom he fought for was so easily surrendered to a two-bit political hack from Chicago
And now they are starting to find out what happens when government takes over something.

Next, they will find out that, once government gets in, they can't get it out again.

Ever.
