I totally agree with you. I am on unemployment and can afford my own healthcare and I have pre-existing conditions. While it is true that no one is forcing me to have abortions, I don't want to pay for someone else to have an abortion. Abortion goes against everything I believe in. I believe that children are human beings and not simple inconveniences or mistakes that can be eliminated.

Another thing I should mention is that I heard a congressman from Iowa say that for years the liberals have been saying that laws against abortion elimintates the freedom of choice for women. Now, we have a law that is going to eliminate the freedom of choice for every American citizen. Yet all the liberals are supporting this law.

Are you directly or indirectly funding abortions now by paying tax?

Wrong, as usual.

As I said at the time, Republicans lost because they stopped being conservative, and paid the price. So there wasn't as much reason to vote for them.

Democrats may win today because Republicans screwed up (see above), and the American people kicked them out... and thus got rid of the guardians at the gates of the Constitution. Instead they let in the barbarian hordes, and now we are getting the first major result: An unworkable, unconstitutional scheme that has failed every time it has been tried, but is being rammed through by glassy-eyed fanatic ideologues.

Democrats will be kicked back out in large numbers this November, now that they've revealed to their voters that they lied to them about being reasonable centrists. But by then the damage will have been done.

Got any link at all that backs up your opinion here?

No matter how much you hate abortion, they will continue to happen.
Why not just work to reduce how many happen each year?

Support comprehensive sex ed.
Support family planning clinics.
Support subsidized birth control and condoms.

All liberals DO NOT support this bill. I can't believe the bold face lies some people will resort to on this board.

Funny how anti-choice people see liberals (who tend to be pro-choice) as people who eliminate freedom of choice.

Not really....

It is just an expansion of the health care industrial complex and it further entrenches health insurance companies into our health care "system."

It's more a payoff for all those lobbying dollars the health insurance companies and Big Pharma spent in Congress.

First of all it, isn't going to eliminate freedom of choice for every American citizen. That is just wacko misinformation. A grasp at yet another straw.

What we are watching is called compromise. That is how laws are made and passed.

I have been actively pro choice for 37 years. I will up my support of private groups to provide abortion services to those in need. Some of my friends do not agree with me- they thought we should hang tough. I wanted the bill passed.

Trust me, the dems that support abortion rights that are supporting this bill know that it isn't perfect- heck everyone knows that it isn't perfect. But if it doesn't pass now, it will be decades before the stars align to bring it this close to passage in the future.
