I have been reading off and on about NFL expansion for a few years now, especially since Los Angeles is without a team.
I was thinking about future expansion teams and where they should locate, and thought it would be fun to propose some team locations for the future. I think an expansion of 4 teams for each division would be appropriate, bringing the total number to 8 total (aggressive but more fun to think about):
Virginia Patriots (stadium in Norfolk/Virginia Beach metro)
San Antonio Rebels
Memphis Hound Dogs
Oklahoma City Gunslingers
Los Angeles Destroyers
Portland Lumberjacks
Las Vegas Gamers
Salt Lake City Werewolves
Other cities intermixed could be Alberquerqe or Birmingham....
There already is a team named the Patriots - or haven't you heard?
The NFL isn't going to promote guns (Gunslingers).
Los Angeles should never again get an NFL team.
I don't think that the NFL wants to publicly promote gambling (Gamers).
Wolves is O.K. but not Werewolves.

Bhahah that's true about the Patriots. I guess I have a thing against New England
Who knows, they promote racism (redskins--many would argue against/for) lol
LA will get an LA team though--a metro of 16 million ++ and growing. Too much $ to be made.
I think the NFL would go with that name...it's fun.
It's gonna grow though, don't you think? You can't stop progress. Population growth will continue, and so will popularity and demand for the sport. More teams means more revenue, most likely. Unless you are the Jaguars hahaha

1. The NFL is nowhere in any condition to add teams.
2. There are considerable problems with EACH city you listed supporting an expansion franchise.
Virginia - I'm a native of that area. No corporate presence. Transient population which actively support other NFL teams. All 7 cities there hate each other and will NOT cooperate which is severely needed for support of an expansion franchise.
San Antonio- Do you really want to have Jerry Jones AND Bob McNair on your backside fighting to keep a team out of San Antonio?
Memphis - Too small and the Titans ain't having it.
Oklahoma City - Too small and they would not support an NFL team since college football is king there.
Los Angeles - The fact that TWO teams have split should tell the NFL something. The city will get a team whenever Jacksonville, Buffalo, or Minnesota decide to call it a day in their current city.
Portland - The hipster population there will not embrace football.
Las Vegas - The gambling there would keep Goodell up at night.
Salt Lake City - Entirely too small. Besides most of the city would not make a 1pm game since they's still be in LDS church.
Albuquerque - Not seeing it. Too small.
Birmingham - Probably the worst choice on the list. Too small, U of Alabama for all intents and purposes is their pro team, Atlanta and Nashville are too close.
Virginia Patriots (stadium in Norfolk/Virginia Beach metro)
Is the NFL turning in to the CFL now?
