One thing to note, as dominant as the Patriots have been the past 15 years or so.. they have never dominated in the Super Bowl.. they have won more than they have lost but every one has been a nail biter... i noted last year that i felt the Patriots were going to reverse that trend and dominate the Falcons.. didn't happen.. this year i will make no such prediction and instead will follow the trend.. Patriots win a nail biter!

I am going to throw this factoid out there as well, as I originally thought it was well-known, but on second thought, perhaps not for some young fans....
Don Shula set the all-time wins record at Philadelphia in November 1993 (11 days before the infamous Leon Lett Thanksgiving game and the lone Shula vs Jimmy Johnson match up). The winning quarterback? No, not Dan Marino who had the Achilles injury in Week 5 and was out for the year. No, not Scott Mitchell, who got knocked out most of the remainder of the season in the first half by the Eagles. No, not old-time veteran Steve Deberg, who would be signed after the Philly game and start most of Miami's remaining games. The individual was in fact, Doug Pederson.

BIRDS have been in 5 of the last 6 Super Bowls, winning two (Ravens, Seahawks) and losing two (Seahawks, Falcons) and this year, the EAGLES keep the trend going

Historically, Birds do not fare well in the Super Bowl holding an over all 3 - 7 records, the Eagles, Falcons and Seahawks all lost twice while the Pesky Red Birds lost once.

It would seem that if one groups the Hatriots in with the other members of the "American Heritage" division (49ers, Cowboys 49ers Redskins Chiefs) then that group has had the most success

............Still waiting for a cat to win............

Bill Belichick is one of only 2 people that have 7 Super Bowl rings. The other is Neal Dhalen, a front office exec who won 5 with the 49ers and 2 with the Broncos.

LII was a great game if you like offense and scoring. The Patriots lose their 5th, joining the Broncos with 5 losses.

We can add a new Super Bowl Fun Fact..
The NFC EAST is now the only division in the NFL in which every team in the division has a Super Bowl title.
Cowboys - 5
Giants - 4
Redskins - 3
Eagles - 1 (Welcome to the party Eagles!)

Coupled with the NFC East pushing their league leading Combined Division SBs to 13.

Awesome stat there! As much as I follow the Packers, I don't mind when other teams are successful. Think it is good for the league and fans following the teams.

This was a fun SB to watch! I lose interest sometimes when my team isn't playing, but I stuck with this one.

I must say the funniest moment was the Giants Dirty Dancing parody, promoting TD celebrations. Oh, my gosh, hysterical. However, Eli has no rhythm, but I liked it, too funny. Those Manning boys are not afraid to put themselves out there (Saturday night live skits, etc.)

With the league’s realignment in 2002 it’s impossible to get a full appreciation for teams like the Steelers 6-2 record and that mark’s domination of its division because the division has only existed in its current form for 16 seasons. Conversely the Patriots were 1-2 in the Super Bowl before realignment, with the Brady-BB combo emerging just the year prior. Since realignment the 7 conference titles absolutely dominates the AFC East. The critique that the Pats haven’t faced down overly stout competition has some merit: since realignment the division has sent only 6 wild card teams to the playoffs. The ability to dominate what has otherwise been a weak division definitely helps come playoff time because the Pats are usually able to lock in a first round bye.

The Steelers and the Giants are the only teams with multiple SB wins before and after the realignment. The Steelers had 4 before and added 2 after. The Giants has 2 and added 2. This will be less impressive as time goes on because there are teams like the Cowboys, 49ers and Broncos that can still add themselves to this sub-list. The Broncos are one win away, in fact. The Packers too. For now the Steelers and Giants are alone in some pretty unique trivia.
