Two division winners, one who pundits said "deserved" their division win, one who the pundits said "lucked" their way to a division win -- this after the pundits said at the beginning of last season that the Bears would be lucky to have a .500 season. And accordingly, the Falcons were 12-point favorites, even though they were on the road.
I see last year's tradition of underestimating the Bears and downplaying their success has carried over through this year.
12 points? Last I saw it was 2.5, and I think it might have moved lower by kickoff.
Edit- looks like it was 2, so I guess you might have made a typo, as 12 would be off the charts absurd.
Just listened to the PTI podcast, and Tony kind of brought me back to earth. He said basically, these are two division winners from last year and the bears had it at home. It just seems bigger than it is because people were so down on the bears going into this year.
With that said, he did say the D deserves a ton of credit to holding the offense to only 6 points.
Yeah, the Bears were at home but they dominated the Falcons.
Even if the Bears and Falcons were both expected to make the playoffs it's still a great win.
I can't believe you guys, joking, of course! I had more faith in Bears beating the dirty birds than you did and I admit to being a fair weather fan in a past life.

A lot of us in this thread are Chicago sports fans. We have a culture of being let down in this city - sure we have some glory sprinkled in there, we aren't Cleveland or anything, but overall, we are pessimistic about our teams. At least thats my opinion.
And you are right, I'm sure. My BIL is a die-hard Cubs fan, always has been, takes a bus from Iowa to see them at Wrigley, St. Louis, Milwaukee and he always has hope every year! I've never been what one would call a die-hard fan, follow too many teams, probably considered more band wagon by most.
Sad story. I may like the Bears none, but Urlacher himself is a hell of a ballplayer and a class act.
