Not only is this defense ranked near the worst in the NFL, both defensive players Ford and Jones were ejected for completely stupid reasons. If I were Andy Reed I'd be looking at the defensive coordinator and telling him to get his sht together or he's going to be replaced - and I'm not talking about starting next season. If the Chiefs didn't have the best offense and it was just average, my bet is the Chiefs would be either 1-4 or 0-5 right now.
I am looking forward to your Chiefs coming to Foxboro to face my Patriots. If there was ever an early to mid season game that could really set the table for what the AFC will look like at the end of the year, this is it. I'll be at Gillette screaming loudly for my Pats, but expect to see a shootout as KC is legit.
Much as I hate to say it, I think this is the Chiefs first loss. I just don't see the "just barely good enough" defense getting it done in New England. With Justin Houston out with a hammy and Dee Ford nursing a tender groin I don't see the Chiefs being able to make Brady uncomfortable and with Eric Berry out there is no one to check Gronk. I think the Pats can score at will. It will take a herculean effort from Mahomes and his band of Mahomies to keep up. The Chiefs starting guard, Dr. Larry, is out with a broken leg so the offensive line will be down a bit too. My fan's heart says Andy can figure out a way to get this done but my rational side says the Pats win at home. They've had 10 days to rest up and prepare.
I haven't seen any Pats games so I don't know how good their defense is and so far they haven't won a road game but they usually start slow and then get fat playing the cupcakes in the AFC East.
I think Chiefs gonna struggle cuz of those defensive injuries and playing at Gillette. Both defenses will be so so but Brady wins in a shoot out. I want Chiefs to win but this may be too much.
Lots of people seem to think the Chiefs have never played at the razor stadium in NE before. Last time the Chiefs were there in week 1 last season, they stunned the Patriots 42-27. Andy Reid knows the Patriots well, and should have a good game plan for them.
