Some people say that its good to leave your PC on all night, because turning it on and off damages it. But I think the cooling fan could burn out during the night and cook my hard drive. What to do?
If the fan goes out and the hard drive gets too hot, your PC will shut itself down. They haven't gone Skynet quite yet, but they still try to protect themselves.
I've been up since 3:10am because my panic alarm on my car kept going off for no reason (horns, lights, the whole shebang). I'm pretty sure my neighbors want me murdered at this point.
Went to the car place today and apparently the sensor on my hood latch malfunctioned and convinced my car that someone was trying to break into my hood.
At our farmers' market last spring, I picked up two small house plants planted in moss balls. I've used them as a centerpiece on my dining room table all summer. Now that fall is here, I need to find them a different home. I found small containers for them and put them in a window of the dining area. But, to water them without dropping water on the wood floor is proving to be problematical. I suppose I'll gave to put an old towel down on the floor every time I water--which is about twice a week.

Ok, I get that, but the question is does it make sense to shut it down every night to extend fan life, or does daily rebooting cause some other kind of damage?
Turns out the NSA already has a Skynet they call it MONSTER MIND!
I don't like it when there are no AAA batteries in the house. My remote needs AAA's.
But I think there ARE some in the house, because i buy them often enough, and they should be where the AA batteries are, in that wonderful junk kitchen drawer that houses everything from plant ID tags from 2006, unknown keys that no-one can throw out because no-one knows what they're for, unknown adapters, charger things, an old Nokia cell phone, prototype most likely, a stud finder (ooooooh) and 2 rolls of 35 mm film that I know in my heart, will never find its way to a film place to be developed. Gosh, 4 rolls of electrical tape and it's taken us 20 years to use about 0.001% of one roll. And those are just the exciting contents. There's more.

Didn't realize until halfway through that a show I was watching in DVR was only 20 minutes in. I caught up, and was forced to watch commercials for the second half of the show.
