Crew from Exmark Aluminum arrived late today and staged their materials. Foreman asked if they could start tomorrow (holiday) at 8:30 AM and even work Saturday to complete the cage job. Of course!!! Git'er done...

Yes. And it's called Benchmark Aluminum. If they work holidays, I want to give them proper credit

Thanks for all this info, MA! We just moved into our house in North Port which already had a pool -- I did not have the patience to wait for one to be built -- but this thread is helping me anticipate what to expect now that my neighbor is putting in a pool. I think I'll let him know about the cage people -- that's pretty impressive.

Also thanking you for the hurricane thread. I'd been putting it out of my mind since we moved (Memorial Day weekend) because we were just so up to our eyebrows in other stuff. But you but the fear of God into me so we're now making proper plans.

Good luck with the rest of your project!

I thought I was the only one who was getting that feeling.

MA did they finish the cage this weekend?

No they didn't. They only worked 3 hours on Saturday but they started putting the frame work together (on the ground, not standing. We'll see what they get done tomorrow with a 60% chance of rain. Electricians are supposed to be here tomorrow as well. We are paying a few extra dollars to have a sub-panel (extra breakers) and outlets installed on that side of the house, since there's no power there. ($150). Not bad.

I'm flying to Los Angeles Monday for the work week but will keep tabs via my security cams online.

Your pool looks amazing, what a beautiful job they did with the pavers, I looked through most of this thread and couldn't find the name of the company, would you mind giving me their contact info? or do they work only for the pool install company?

Hi Doxies and thanks for the note. I don't know the name of the paver company but the pool contractor can probably tell you. The pool is being put in by Custom Pools by Precision.

Cage crews came again today for about 3 hours....lol. Then the rain chased them away and they never returned. I'm telling you, someday this thing has got to get finished. DOH! I just know it.

Oh and update on the Electrical sub....remember the $150 estimate to add a sub-panel, where they are running lines anyway? They followed up with my wife today and said they really meant $525. I said, "no extra work for them." I will get someone else to do it. My neighbor is an electrician and he said a job like that shouldn't cost near that much...maybe $300 at the most.
