Yes I get that and I don't claim that were colder or snowier, just that it can get cold with snow here as well. I wasn't responding to the original post, but rather to some folks that think they don't need a shovel or an ice scrapper or a winter jacket, etc. It must be nice to not have to go to work in the morning then, because if I didn't shovel my driveway or scrape off my car I could guarantee you I wouldn't be going anywhere tomorrow morning whether or not I was from the North Pole or Death Valley!

Be sure to let Mike or one of our realtors know when your house is ready for market. I am sure he'll have half a dozen folks waiting to outbid each other for the house. The Cary area is in high demand right now, I don't see it changing.

So when you looked at moving here, did you do your due diligence and what has changed? I am really curious as to what drew you to the area? What does it lack that you had where you came from?

I lived in Queens, LI, Potsdam, Canton, Rochester and Ithaca and never saw a warmer winter than here in NC. This year is colder than I can remember in my 18 years in NC but I've never seen a winter like I have in NY.

For me, this is the perfect 4 season climate. Well, a tad bit hot in summer but I'm learning to deal with that.

I actually moved here for the weather from Florida and love it. The weather is one of my favorite things about this area. I wanted all four seasons, but none of the extremes lasting too long. The heat lasts for six months in Florida and doesn't cool off at night. Here it may get hotter, but it is a lot shorter. And it's the same with the cold and snow.

I moved here from Florida as well, last year. Are you a fellow Gainesvillian?

I think happiness is found in the art of compromise, forging ahead with lust for the potentials of life, and the ability to make chicken salad out of what you first see as chicken poop.
If we ever do a picnic as a meetup sometime, please feel free to bring a nice fruit salad, or some chips
