If you're counting the seconds until Time Warner updates its speeds to your home, be sure to check to see if AT&T Gigapower is available in your neighborhood. It's about $10 more per month, based on the promotion of the day that you were able to wrangle out of Time Warner. My latest speed test shows about 950 up AND down.
Maxx is live in 27613. I have a tech coming out this weekend to check my connection outside as I'm not getting close to the Ultimate 300, but my uploads are fantastic.
I'm happy to confirm your field report.
I find it somewhat amazing that at roughly the same time TWC is bumping me up, AT&T has finally made it down my street and is able to offer me 45/5 broadband, this after being in my neighborhood for at least five years. Talk about a day late and a couple of (hundred) MB short....

What are the specs for the PC that you did that speed test on? One of my computers is doing the same thing with the upload being fine but the download speed being not quite up to what it's supposed to be, but the rest of them are giving me like 300+ down and 20+ up. I think my problem is with that particular PC. If you have another computer you can do a speedtest on, you might wanna try that.

2 year old Lenovo laptop, 6 month old Lenovo desktop, and an Ipad Air 2. All of them are under 90 mbps down, wired or wireless.

If the computer is directly wired to the router, the problem could be the network port on the PC. It might be a 10/100 port, which would limit you to a theoretical maximum of 100Mbps.
If the computer is connected to the router via wireless, then the wireless adapter in that computer is probably an older design that isn't capable of the higher speeds offered by multi-channel "N" or "AC" wireless routers.

Assuming your cable modem is capable of higher speeds, I think that means that your router only has a 10/100 WAN port for the cable that connects to your cable modem.
An easy test is to connect a known 10/100/1000 capable device (probably your newest laptop) directly to the cable modem. If you don't see the higher speeds, then the problem is either the cable modem, or on TWC's end.
I have the 6183 modem which can handle 300/20 and am using the Airport Extreme, an AC router. All of my equipment is capable of Maxx. I think the issue has to do with something outside of my home. Anyways, the tech will be here tomorrow to diagnose.
Any word for 27713? I had heard 9/3 or 9/8, but here we are and I'm still at 20/2.
