Which of these Malls do you prefer in the Triangle In my Opinion I prefer Crabtree and Southpoint because when I go to the malls the things that are important to me are the Department Stores!

crabtree is weird and cramped like a dungeon not to mention perpetual flooding and difficult to get in and out of

i like southpoint because i can ride my bike to there and it seems more well rounded / holistic

Agree completely with this. Southpoint is easier to get in and out of. I never go to malls to shop (hate the concept - who buys things in stores anymore...), but it is nice having the restaurants on the outside with parking that is relatively close.

If I absolutely have to go to a mall, Southpoint.

Northgate and Triangle Town Center barely qualify as legitimate malls anymore.

Cary Towne Center will revive or evolve into something different, once the IKEA opens.

Southpoint and Crabtree are the only ones that know what they're doing, when it comes to serving the market.

That said, I completely avoid going to malls unless absolutely necessary.

Wow I never thought of it that way the only things that usually pull me to the Malls are still Belk and JCPenney sometimes Sears but I feel Sears has less than 5 years left!

lol you are some kind of anachronism especially in the age of amazon

i mostly go to southpoint for fast casual dining or to see a movie

crabtree doesn't even have a theater right?

also i find the outdoor element in southpoint critical to its appeal

Crabtree offers Belk, Macy's, and Sears. Streets at Southpoint adds Nordstrom and JCPenney, as well as Belk, Macy's and Sears. The large Belk store at Crabtree is one of their top performing flagship stores. Overall Southpoint may offer more entertainment options such as a large movie theater and Cheesecake Factory. And I wonder how long a declining Sears will remain at both centers. Perhaps replace with entertainment or lifestyle options, or make room for Dillard's which is absent from the top 2 malls.

I'll bet that once Sears inevitably goes away, Saks 5th Avenue will look to jump from TTC to either Crabtree or Southpoint...or both.
