Maybe Lucky32 in Cary? Southern style food.

V's Kitchen in Durham/RTP is one that hasn't been mentioned yet, but they are delicious.

True Flavors is kind of upscale southern food. Great biscuits.

Backyard BBQ on 55 is OK, I wasn't that impressed.
I love Elmo's in Durham. Epic chicken and dumplings, and I love their coleslaw.
Never been to Chicken Hut, but I've heard it's great.
Big Ed's apparently has a few locations; I've been to the one in Garner and it's OK, not great.

Folks, thanks for all the suggestions. It'll take me a while to explore them all.

McLean’s Ole Time Cafe in Zebulon is another good one if you’re east of Raleigh sometime. We had a group that met for lunch quarterly, and we often ate there.

Angie's is a definite.
Pam's Farmhouse - Western Blvd
Big Ed's, either downtown or Falls of Neuse.

I never went to Watkins Grill. The crowd was a little on the rough side many years ago, and for that reason alone I guess I never got there to eat. I’m sure it’s fine now.

I tried Watkins Grill a few weeks ago and honestly I was not impressed with the food. Definitely are better places in the area like Pam's or Big Ed's

I like both of them. I attend an annual retirees breakfast at Pam’s in December, but missed last year due to the pandemic. I hope to get back soon.
