The Canes have called up MacEachern, Koivunen, Ponomarev, Rees, Suzuki, Lajoie, and Sawchenko from Chicago. It's SOP to do a call-up like this for the playoffs, but it's conceivable that one or more of these players will actually get ice time. Lajoie skated in two playoff games for the Canes in 2021. MacEachern had playoff experience with St Louis.
Encouraging to see that Suzuki, our first-round pick in 2019, is back on the radar after so many injuries.
It's a Great Night for a Carolina Hurricanes Post-Season Victory to go 3-0!
Same ole postseason Canes on the road. After the first period, they really didn't seem to put many threats together. And then they completely fell apart in the end.
Not impressed with Puljujarvi so far. Managed to get a -2 last night in just 9 minutes TOI. Took 1 shot in 13 shifts. No goals and 2 assists in 18 games now. One could argue that as an RFA with arb rights, the Canes won't have to spend much to keep him around next season -- especially with this level of production. It took Necas and Kotkaniemi a while to blossom. But with the difficulties in scoring, Brind'Amour may have to give ice time to one of the callups from Chicago and hope that somebody can put the biscuit in the basket.

Pulu did a lot of hitting in Edmonton. A lot. We aren't seeing it here.
Yeah, he's a couple of years away from seeing another $3 million AAV. Don says he will re-sign him but the young fellow should plan on a haircut from his present contract.
The knock on Julien Gauthier after a bit in Carolina was that he couldn't process the game speed at the NHL level. Pulu has me wondering if the game is just too quick for him. Or, maybe another year or two would help him, if the price is right.
